Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
Hi, The problem the other way around: IceS -> IceCast -> ShoutCast -> KiSS (the KiSS then decodes the mp3 to a RAW SPDIF stream, which is received by my sourround receiver). But the constallation is somewhat overkill and slightly unstable, so I would prefer just IceS -> IceCast -> KiSS But that does not work at all for unknown reasons (since shoutcast can do this, and the

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
I have successfully set up a system with Ices0.4 and IceCast2.20 (and Tunez). It plays well using mpg123 or WinAmp. But I would like to use also my KiSS DVD player for the stream, and I have not been able to do so - It appearently needs 110% SHOUTcast compatibility. So I tried the IceCast2.3.1 - but it still didn't like the KiSS (or the other way around). In stead, I have added a SHOUTcast

Re: [icecast-dev] Hot Topic: Icecast in MacromediaFlash
Hi Dave, I remember I read your post, but when I read it, nobody had answered you yet. Thank you very much for the script, it seems to be more complete than mine. I am new to php, to create a script, I usually edit it in notepad and save it as *.php. How can I compile the script '--with-sockets' under windows? Thanks again MAX ________________________________________ From:

Under windows all you need to do is edit your php.ini file under C:\WINDOWS\ (xp) or C:\WINNT (2000) Look for the the following lines ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ; Dynamic Extensions ; ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; then find ;extension=php_shmop.dll extension=php_sockets.dll ;extension=php_sybase_ct.dll ;extension=php_tokenizer.dll make sure sockets is uncommented you will also need to set the path you

ices0 systemd package?
Not sure what the ices0 development plans are regarding Fedora systemd support. A basic start may be as listed below. Just note that after install, depending on the instance of ices0 being started, use 'systemctl start ices0 at 0.service'. See the installed unit service file ices0 at .service for additional information. Spec file: ftp://ftp.bkyoung.com/pub/specs/ices0.spec.tgz Maybe to

error after sending SIGHUP to Ices0
Hi all, after sending SIGHUP to Ices0, Ices0 reloads the playlist correctly. Indeed Ices0 plays the new playlist, but starts not at position one as expected. Ices0 starts at the last position played on the old playlist + 1. What have I missed? Many thanks in advance. Greets Boerni

Ices0 & Icecast2
Hi, I would like to stream MP3 to Icecast2 and read in the archives that this should work fine with ices0. I compiled and installed both icecast2 and ices0 fine, but ices0 seems to fail to authenticate. Perl module and ices0
Hi, Can anyone give me some advice about how to go about creating a perl-driven playlist for ices0? I'd be grateful. I don't know what creating a Perl "module" entails, to be honest. I've written a .pl script which does the necessary functions and returns the path to the next MP3 file; is it enough just to reference this script by name in the <Module></Module>

ices0 and ices2 on /dev/dsp?
Simple newbie question (if I had the necessary hardware, I'd just try it). Can I run both ices0 and ices2 simultaneously, point them at the same source (/dev/dsp) and then use icecast to broadcast both ogg vorbis and MP3 streams? -- Jeff Simmons jsimmons@goblin.punk.net Simmons Consulting - Network Engineering, Administration, Security "You

Cannot build ices0/libshout2 on Mac OSX 10.4.2
Hi - I'm rebuilding my OSX system and I can't get ices0 to build - or to be more exact, can't get libshout2 to build. I started by using DarwinPorts, and icecast2 & libogg & libvorbis seemed to build OK. The install of ices0 then gave up at the libshout2 config stage with output like this: [...] checking for libvorbis... ok checking for struct ovectl_ratemanage_arg... no

ices0, lame, and m4a
Ok, I don't know what I'm doing wrong here, so I signed up to the mailing list. Here's the situation: I have an extensive music collection and have just purchased an iPod. I already have ripped a few of my CDs (about 4Gb worth) in an mp3 format (previously had an mp3 CD player), but I'm not planning to rip the rest of my CD collection in an mp3 format. At the moment, I'm
