Basics about Videostreaming?
Hi All! I've seen, that icecast can stream videos! Great! Audiostreaming with icecast is well known, but how about videostreaming? Can you tell me some basics about it? - which software is required? (Icecast, ok ;) what else? - by the way: my OS is a linux ;) ) - I want to stream a live-video with 1024x768 resolution - is it possible? - is it wise? - what a compression-rate is to use, if

Xen w/ Matrox Parhelia - cpu_callout_map
I''ve been attempting to use my machine with a Matrox Parhelia card with the Fedora Core 6 Xen kernel. The Matrox card requires a kernel module. The module builds without error, but fails to load due to an unknown symbol, "cpu_callout_map". I submitted this issue to the Unofficial Matrox Technical Support Forum, but haven''t been able to resolve anything yet:

ffmpeg2theora icecast ubuntu edgy
Hi, I just wanna share with you my experience with theora ffmpeg2theora, icecast2 and ubuntu edgy. I wanted to broadcast live video on an Ubuntu machine with ffmpeg2theora, oggfwd and icecast2. I read the thread http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2005-February/008608.html about the stream dying after a couple seconds with libshout 2.0. Now the same happens if you use libshout3 v2.2 with

3D Acceleration with Matrox MGA G200EH?
I'm running on a machine with a Matrox MGA G200EH but it doesn't appear that the 3D acceleration is being used (for example Google Earth lists the driver as being Mesa). Is there an additional driver that I need to install to enable the 3D acceleration functionality? Or something else I need to do? Thanks, Dave

MATROX GPU - xorg-x11-drv-mga-1.6.3 on supermicro server
Hello Guys, our cluster runs till 2014 on supermicro board. It is not unusual that still mainboards with mga graphics cards are delivered. So I have then adjusted the mga driver from centos 6 - the specification file - , to be build on CentOS 7. Since then this runs on the headnode without failures. Maybe you should provide this via epel. The source can be found here:

Winamp vorbis crash
Hi! ( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I am not sure what his email address is ) I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp does not respond to any user input

No sound on any stream.
I have 2 icecast servers and neither will play music, 1 gentoo, the other ubuntu when connect to a mount and trying to broadcast via mixxx using both mp3 or ogg. Both will establish a stream feed but appears to have no sound. One of them won't even stream a ices2 mounted song either (same symptom, connect but no actual play occurs). Error logs are clean too, firewall is turned off on both
