Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
Hi, The problem the other way around: IceS -> IceCast -> ShoutCast -> KiSS (the KiSS then decodes the mp3 to a RAW SPDIF stream, which is received by my sourround receiver). But the constallation is somewhat overkill and slightly unstable, so I would prefer just IceS -> IceCast -> KiSS But that does not work at all for unknown reasons (since shoutcast can do this, and the

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
THAT was it! Both ones work, so I think I'll stick to the last one. Now the KiSS will connect to the IceCast2, and I have enabled the metadata again without problem. Thank you very much! Server question - if you had ...
If you had $3,000 for a new Icecast2 streaming server, what would you buy? What box, hard drives, LAN cards, etc.? The project I am involved with is helping community groups in UK webcast live public meetings and events. Democaster also archives Icecast streams for on-demand streaming or download. We are focused on high accessibility and low cost. See: http://dowire.org/wiki/Democaster Because

live video windows
Hi, Does Icecast2.3 handle wmv (windows media video) format streams? I need to set up a live streaming service. It is important that no additional software should be installed on client side, so either need a flash player (or java based player if we have nothing else) or a format that can be played with the default Windows Media Player. If it supports such things what software can I use to

Enable port 80 on Win2k3 server with Websites configured
Greetings Everyone Just playing around with the new version, And I'm having difficulties setting up Icecast to play with a second listening port on 80. If I turn off all of the websites, it works, BUT, if I have one on (3 IP addresses attached to the Nic...websites attached to port 192.168.0.90) it says it cannot create a listening port on port 80.

Web application to feed icecast
Hello, i guess this question appeared before, but I haven't found anything by searhing the whole morning. I know that some web radio stations use icecast2. They also have a web application that makes it possible to request songs, add items to the playlist of the source client and so on. Most of the web radios have developed the web application by itself (i guess so). I'm not able to

suggestion: add mp3 support to ices2
It says here there hasn't been much interest in handling mp3 with ices2: http://www.icecast.org/files/ices_docs/faq.html I just wanted to mention that I'm interested in doing so. I use ices for a web-based jukebox project called Tunez. I have tried the other suggested icecast streamers and have had major problems with both of them (muse and liveice). It would be really cool if the

XSL Content-type
Hello! I have created XLS stylesheet that generetes .m3u list of streaming content via my icecast2 server. That is just simple remake of status.xsl. But I got stuck. When I request it via http://serever/list.xsl - my winamp doesnot accept the m3u generated file. I began to research. The main problem is "Content-type" which gives me the icecast. It gives me text\html and I need

HSM
I think there may be some confusion here. By HSM I was referring to Hierarchical Storage Management, whereby there are multiple levels of storage (fast+expensive <-> slow+cheap) and files migrate up or down. Originally it was used to keep data on tape with the metadata residing on disk though it has been expanded to allow a SAS/SATA hierarchy. Quite where PKI comes in I'm not sure,

[PATCH] ssh-pkcs11: allow providing unconditional pin code for PKCS11
I find this approach very bad in general.? PKCS#11 standard says that *private* keys should not be accessible without authentication. *Public* keys and certificates of course can and should be accessible with no authentication. SoftHSM misinterpreted this originally (older pkcs11 documents were less clear :), but they rectified this mistake. We should not repeat it.?

HSM
Hmm, don't you just love changing terminology! I've been using HSM systems at work since '99. BTW, DMAPI is the Data Management API which was a common(ish) extension used by amongst others SGI and IBM. Back to lvmcache. It looks interesting. I'd earlier dismissed LVM since it is block orientated, not file orientated. Probably because my mental image is of files migrating to

Purely from interest, is there any current FOSS implementation of HSM? I note that XFS has dropped support for DMAPI, have other filesystems? ices0 systemd package?
Not sure what the ices0 development plans are regarding Fedora systemd support. A basic start may be as listed below. Just note that after install, depending on the instance of ices0 being started, use 'systemctl start ices0 at 0.service'. See the installed unit service file ices0 at .service for additional information. Spec file: ftp://ftp.bkyoung.com/pub/specs/ices0.spec.tgz Maybe to

[PATCH] ssh-pkcs11: allow providing unconditional pin code for PKCS11
Some HSM's such as Safenet Network HSM do not allow searching for keys unauthenticated. To support such devices provide a mechanism for users to provide a pin code that is always used to automatically log in to the HSM when using PKCS11. The pin code is read from a file specified by the environment variable SSH_PKCS11_PINFILE if it is set. Tested against Safenet Network HSM. ---
