Enable port 80 on Win2k3 server with Websites
Mike:
Sorry, I had it in the Subject line. I'm using Windows 2003 Server.
I can bind websites to IP address, and allocate anything to a different IP.
I was kinda hoping that if I bound Port 80 to an IP address that nothing
else was using, it would work.
Thanks

CentOS box images at Vagrant Cloud give 404
Hi,
At Vagrant Cloud there are "box" images for stream8 and stream9 [1]. At
least they are supposed to be there.
The download links on the detail pages, for example for stream9
20230727.1 [2] are redirected to cloud.centos.org, however they give an
404 error.
Possibly the centos Vagrant Cloud page is not kept up to date with the
actual box images that are now present on

Stream fallbacks/spillovers/splashing
Okay, a quick question,
I've got IceCast 2.3.1 setup on a demo server, And I've got some wierd
behavior going on...
Here's the behavior:
I have my constant feed always running on mountpoint: /switch
I have my main stream broadcasting: /stream
someone connects to an alternate named stream: /krushradio
They pull all the listeners from /switch and /stream to their stream.

Server question - if you had ...
If you had $3,000 for a new Icecast2 streaming server, what would you
buy?
What box, hard drives, LAN cards, etc.?
The project I am involved with is helping community groups in UK webcast
live public meetings and events. Democaster also archives Icecast
streams for on-demand streaming or download. We are focused on high
accessibility and low cost. See: http://dowire.org/wiki/Democaster

ICES with MP3Pro?
Greg,
Yes, I have noticed that new codec.. AACPlus. Its really impressive in it's abilities, and it's sound quality.
I tried to open it up with Windows Media Player and my Flash Player.. didn't seem to like it very much. While It's really kewl as a codec, and it has great support with a couple players, and limited support for the rest, I'll stick with the mainstream for now,

Trying to get EZStream to work
I'm having problems getting EZStream to work. I can't find a working
version of Madplay anywhere..
Also, do I need to have lame in the actual directory? Would that be the
exe, or the dll version of it.
Thanks

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
I have successfully set up a system with Ices0.4 and IceCast2.20 (and
Tunez). It plays well using mpg123 or WinAmp.
But I would like to use also my KiSS DVD player for the stream, and I have
not been able to do so - It appearently needs 110% SHOUTcast
compatibility.
So I tried the IceCast2.3.1 - but it still didn't like the KiSS (or the
other way around). In stead, I have added a SHOUTcast

ices2 memory leak on Debian/ARM (The Darkener)
Justin,
I'm not a linux guy, or a that well versed on ICES, but, I went thru the
code (stream.c) and just kinda nosed around the broadcast part. When we
look at distros that this uses, it may be the correct version of the
package, but it might actually be a supporting package, like curl or
something like that. If you look at the code attached below, it shows there
might be some kind of

XSL Content-type
Hello!
I have created XLS stylesheet that generetes .m3u list of streaming content
via my icecast2 server. That is just simple remake of status.xsl.
But I got stuck. When I request it via
http://serever/list.xsl - my winamp doesnot accept the m3u generated file.
I began to research. The main problem is "Content-type" which gives me the
icecast. It gives me text\html and I need

live video windows
Hi,
Does Icecast2.3 handle wmv (windows media video) format streams?
I need to set up a live streaming service. It is important that no
additional software should be installed on client side, so either need a
flash player (or java based player if we have nothing else) or a format
that can be played with the default Windows Media Player.
If it supports such things what software can I use to

Running 2 port streams on a windows Server
Doc-
Even easier than that.
Icecast supports moutpoints.
This means you can use the same port for multiple streams.
Just give each stream a different mountpoint (name).
e.g.
http://123.45.67.8:8000/stream1 <http://123.45.67.8:8000/stream1>
http://123.45.67.8:8000/stream2 <http://123.45.67.8:8000/stream2>

How analyze performance (buffering) problems ?
Hello,
I'm looking for a method to track stream performance problems, I mean :
why does listeners got buffering ?
We are using two "front relay" that are hosted by differents providers.
The front relays are connected to our main server (which encode) that is
using two ADSL connections from two differents providers.
How can I do to know if there is a problem between "Front relay

Hungarian codepage problem using smbmount
Dear Samba Developers, Dear Urban,
This was my original letter. I hope you get it correctly this time.
Maybe it was too big, now I reduced the size of this letter.
My goal is to make a Linux fileserver up and running with automatic
archiving functionality in a mixed Windows 2000 - Linux network and
since the beginning of February I could not solve my problem, so I
write to you hoping that you

Re: Icecast Digest, Vol 13, Issue 45
This is regarding the Flash player...
There is nothing special that needs to be coded into your icecast 2.2.0 server to accomplish this.
I've been streaming it thru Flash now for 5 months. www.krushradio.com click on the click2listen button. It will launch my
microsite.
I'm streaming it on a Windows server, and I'm using my own software to drop xml files for the player to read the

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
Hi,
The problem the other way around:
IceS -> IceCast -> ShoutCast -> KiSS
(the KiSS then decodes the mp3 to a RAW SPDIF stream, which is received
by my sourround receiver).
But the constallation is somewhat overkill and slightly unstable, so I would
prefer just
IceS -> IceCast -> KiSS
But that does not work at all for unknown reasons (since shoutcast can do
this, and the
