... and I can confirm this. No gaps were perceivable decoding in ogg123.
However, an interesting effect can be had if all the parts have the same
serial number. You get a bump

ices2, metadata, bumps and crashes
I'm using ices2's metadata facility to update the name of a track in a
vorbis stream:

<param name="channels">2</param>

This line:

is the one that catches my attention. Unfortunately, ices's error
logging is somewhat sub-standard. Can you cross reference this against

Is that 24kbps AACPLUS a full 44.1kHz stereo signal with frequencies
preserved up to at least 15kHz? (Just curious, not

Ogg Vorbis crossfading
Heya people,
Does anyone know if cross-fading has been successfully implemented in
Vorbis? I need to implement it in a project I'm working on and if it's
already been done, a finger pointing in the right direction would be
awesome.
Thanks,
Ian

Q: merging ogg files
Hi,
I'm new here.
I would like to write 2 simple utilities to maniputale
OGG files:
1) oggjoin --output-file=result.ogg file1.ogg file2.ogg ...
Merge file1, file2, ... into result.ogg file
2) oggpause --output-file=result.ogg --duration=0.5
Generate result.ogg with silence for 0.5 seconds
oggpause --output-file=result.ogg --input-file=source.ogg

Virgin Radio now on ices2 - yp not working though
This afternoon I've transferred our Ogg Vorbis Icecast2 streams from darkice
to the ices2 encoder. Apologies if you were trying to listen; I had to stop
and start the streams a few times. They should be stable now as I'm off down
the pub now! As a reminder, the URL for the streams is at
http://www.virginradio.co.uk/thestation/listen/ogg.html.
Ices2 takes slightly different parameters to

Icecast Auto DJ
Hello,
I’ve a question. I have a station now with Shoutcast and shoutcast transcoder for 2 bitrates. 192kbps mp3 and 64 kbps aac+.
I want to transfer these to Icecast. I’ve an working icecast server but i need an auto dj that can encode 2 bitrates, 192kbps mp3 and 64kbps aac.
I had a working setup, but my nonstop machine is not on the icecast server but externally. Now in shoutcast transcoder i

One important thing
Hi.
Since I'm new to this mailing list, I don't know whether this was discussed
in this mailing list, or if it is already fixed.
Anyway, the problem is that all audio encoders out there add a small amount
of silence to the start/end of the encoded file. This is usually a small
amount, around 0.03 seconds. Most of the time it goes unnoticed, BUT when
you have tracks that flow into one

Ogg artifacts
I'm having some difficulty getting into Ogg. Being my first time encoding to
Ogg, I am left doubtful of the quality in reproduction. Hopefully, it is
merely something that I am doing.
My original intentions were to go through my CD collection and rip
everything out at 224kps VBR. I began with an album I was relatively
familiar with. I used FreeRip 2.53 initially, but found that I had

PostFish question
I've been tinkering with vgplay (my fp gain function and replaygain support
code) as well as looking at FLAC replaygain code, with an eye to combining
them into a general gain effect plugin helper, however I noticed that the

Ices2 compile problem on Fedora 3?
I'm trying to complie ices2.0.1 on a more-or-less stock Fedora 3

I think).

New release of aoTuV
For those who missed it, there's a new release of aoTuV (beta 4.5).
According to Aoyumi-san, there's some new tuning for audio below quality set
3 (-q3), but I have not tested it myself yet.
I wonder when Monty will actually check the new versions of aoTuV and merge
them with main trunk. Latest tests on HA show the latest tunings of
Aoyumi-san have matured Vorbis a lot, and

Why does ov_open fail?
hello everyone.
after reading through the api manual of the ogg vorbis win32 sdk, i
tried to implement a very simple comment reader in visual c++. but for
some reason the very first operation to initialize the OggVorbis_File
struct keeps failing and i can't figure out why. is there anything i
might not have considered? The memory exception seems to happen deep

Windows 98 is totally obsolete and useless.
WindowsXP is a completely different architecture for just about everything
except the name Windows.
You owe it to yourself to check out WindowsXP, even though it is subsidized
by the "eveil empire."

Yeah, strip 'em. It's the socially responsible thing to do, and saves
bandwidth too.

When applied to email, this means don't send bounce messages back to the

spoofed it), don't forward
