Can Asterisk help me with some requeriments of my current project?
Hi Asterisk-user.
I'm starting in a soft-phone project with lots of requirements and some of then caused me some doubts about Asterisk. Could someone tell me if Asterisk can help me with some requirements? See below:
1 - My SIP server (Asterisk) will have some SIP clients registered in its SIP registrar. Let's say 6 SIP clients. In my project I have to implement a way of a SIP client

In my project I have to implement a way of a SIP client making a call to a number and all others 5 SIP clients ring. That is, the others 5 SIP clients must receive the SIP INVITE. Can Asterisk help me with such functionality?

Total number of listeners
Hello!
I am using icecast 2.3-kh2 (for the 302 redirect feature), and all my
relays are authenticating with user/pass. Is it possible to know how
many listeners I have for any given mountpoint counting all the relays?

Number of listeners per server box ?
I have a proposal from RackSpace to put icecast on the following
hardware at their server farm. Can someone give me a "guesstimate" of
how many listeners each box can support?
Proposed hardware by RackSpace for each server box:
Dual 866 MHz processor
2 GB ECC RAM
100 Mbps connection
I need to know how many listeners can connect to each of these boxes.
I don't know how to

asterisk mysql support
Hi all,
I've just realized that my asterisk isn't storing cdr inputs in mysql.
cdr_mysql.conf is well configured and I don't know what else should i configure.
I'm using Xorcom's packages, "cdr status" shows:
voip*CLI> cdr status
CDR logging: enabled
CDR mode: simple
CDR registered backend: csv
CDR registered backend: cdr_manager

relation between burst- and queue-size with low bitrate streams
Hi all,
I have a question about the relationship between the "queue-size" and the
"burst-size" <limits> parameters.
Q: When a client connects is the burst-size immediately added to the
queue-size?
If this is the case then the slack for a 16kpbs client goes down from 50 sec
(102400[queue-size] / 16kbps = 50 sec) to 18 seconds ( (102400 -
65536[burst-size]) / 16kpbs =

Bandwidth Calculations
OK if I go with say HE-AAC or Opus, can I still encode as mp3? I am
using Butt as my source encoding. Can Butt be configured to encode
using these codecs instead of their codecs its defaulted to?
Still a bit unclear on the method to calculate a 128k stream with
6,000 GB available bandwidth over 30 days to give an estimated average
user connections possible.

listeners and requests
Running rails, lighttpd and scgi.
If I use only one listener is it right that the server will only be able
to serve one request at a time? I have one action that takes a long time
to complete (makes a system call to a java app), when this action is
being called the whole server seems to be locked, however, all other
requests (from other clients) that come in during this period are being

Current Listeners count wrong for HTML Audio on Android?
Dear all,
The problem I am facing, is that one of my clients is concerned about data
usage.
My client monitors the current number of listeners in the Mount Point list
streams.greenhost.nl:8080.
The case is, when I start a stream from an HTML app on an Android device, I
can see two listeners being added to "Current Listeners". This peculiar
behaviour only occurs on Android, not on

two listeners with different "driver = " configs
Hi,
I would like to have two seperate imap listeners, with different
authentication settings, but the mailstore and userbase etc will be
identical.
I know I can do this:
> service imap-login {
> inet_listener imap {
> port = 143
> }
> inet_listener imap2 {
> port = 144
> }
> }
But I'm unsure how to configure imap/143 with "driver =

Synchronize listeners
Is it at all possible to synchronize listeners so they hear the audio at the
exact same time? It doesn't matter if the source and listener is a few
seconds different.
Someone I know wants to send Ogg Vorbis encoded audio across a wireless LAN
using Icecast to 2 LPFM transmitters on the same frequency, and they really
need to be closely synchronized to prevent echo in an overlap coverage

two *independ* shoutcast listeners
Hi all,
I set up a icecast server 2.3.2 with two shoutcast listeners (port 8000
and port 8002).
What I have noticed is , if I have only one "DSP" source that stream to
the first listener (on port 8001), audio become available on both
listener ? Meaning that a player will open with success on
http://myhost:8000/stream or http://myhost:8002/stream with the same audio.
With two source,

PHP + parsing # of listeners.
Hello all,
I have a quick question I believed was already touched on earlier, but I cannot
find the thread/information in the archives, so I am going to ask away and
ask for your patience. :)
So I have my wonderful little PHP script, and my .pls files, and the relaying
and everything else perfect for my icecast2 setup. But what I still need to
do is pull the # of listners for a mount point, and

Caching current events for new listeners
Hi,
I'm trying to work out how one would go about caching "interesting" packets
from a stream to be sent to newly connecting listeners. At the moment, for, eg,
Theora and Vorbis, the only interesting packets are the recent ones (up to a
keyframe for theora), but, in my case, I can have old packets be still active
while newer packets are obsolete, as packets are sorted by their
