ezstream and OSX 10.4.2 Tiger...
Hello again,
I'm having a dickens of a time getting ezstream configured - it
requires libshout2 - so far so good.
I installed the darwin ports library, did a port install libogg and
then a port install libvorbis. Now, when I try to do a port install
libshout2, configure returns the following.
Any idea why it isn't working? Darwinport is configured to install

a few more questions...
Hello everyone,
I sent the last email prematurely - I had a few more questions. I
don't wish to start a holy war here, but are there certain OSs /
Distros that are preferred for running very busy icecast servers?
We're a Solaris shop currently, but don't mind using linux or BSD if
that would make things easier.
I see there is a Fedora Core RPM on the icecast page - does that

WMP blues :^(
Hello Everybody,
I'm having the strangest problem getting WMP 10 to stream from my
icecast server.
I'm currently serving two streams - one is a 128kbit/s mp3 stream,
the other is a 32kbit/s mp3 stream
Even when explicitly declaring the stream type to be http in
icecast.xml , the 32kbit/s stream buffers *VERY* slowly (it takes
about 3-5 min) in WMP before finally playing.

Solaris Backup Server
I have an opensolaris server running with a raidz zfs pool with almost 1TB of storage. This is intended to be a central fileserver via samba and ftp for all sorts of purposes. I also want to use it to backup my XP laptop. I am having trouble finding out how I can setup solaris to allow my XP machine to backup on a regular schedule, do I look for programs for XP or does solaris have some built in

ezstream question
Hi all:
I am managing a radio station that has 7 streams.
I am using icecast, ices and ezstream on the streams and overall it is
working pretty well.
One of the streams is an old time radio stream and I use ezstream to run the
prerecorded shows.
The streams are 128K mp3 streams.
Also this station is running on a VPS using Ubuntu 14.04.
My question:
Is there a package or some sort of

using ezstream with stdin
I'm having a hard time not getting mp3 data to ezstream via stdin fast
enough. The vb.net application I'm writing, ezstream and icecast are all
running on the same machine (Widows XP). Some where in the process, a
buffer empties out and that results in a drop out when you are
listening. Usually the dropout happens at a song change.
At first I was chunking up the data according to bit

Stream drops during handoff. Suggestions?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've searched high and low for
the last couple days for an answer.
An Internet radio station I DJ for is using Shoutcast and MP3, but we
are considering moving to an Icecast/Ogg Vorbis combination instead. We
work in 3-hour shifts. When we hand off, the DJ on-stream stops teh
encoder, shouts "go" on IRC, and the DJ in line starts his

Newbie needs help
To all:
I am running FreeBSD v7.03 and using icecast2 which is happily relaying
a shoutcast MP3 stream. I want to play (mix)a pre-recorded "Stream ID"
file to the existing stream once per hour.
I've tried ices0 but no luck. Any help will be much appreciated.

eztream broken pipe
I discovered an interesting problem with ezstream. I'm using version
1.2. I see 2 is listed on the website but appears to be a broken link.
Otherwise I'd try it to see if it exhibits the same problem.
I'm using ezstream as a fallback mount for a radio station. It plays a
30 second ogg file over and over. The ogg file is just a 5 second
message with 25 seconds of silence

A few more ezstream questions
I know you guys are tired of me asking questions. I promise it will
slow down soon. But I have a few more questions about ezstream.
1. How can I redirect the ezstream output to a file? Every time I give
ezstream a pipe or redirection of the command line, it doesn't output
anything at all? I've had ezstream 0.1.2 shut down on me after several
hours and I was hoping to retrieve an

Update ezstream playlist 'on the fly'
Hi,
I'm using ezstream to stream a list of mp3 files to my icecast2 server
which works great. I'm using a m3u playlist file which ezstream reads
when it starts and rereads when it loops. The problem is that this
playlist is quite long and I would like to be able to inject a song
last minute some where in the playlist. I have two options at the
moment to do this:
- restart ezstream

EZStream 0.5.6 Says No Such Share Object
On Fedora 20 (Heizenbug), when the command:
/usr/local/bin/ezstream -q -c "{some-file}.xml"
is executed, the error message:
/usr/loca/bin/ezstream: error while loading shared library:

is displayed. "find" shows it's in /usr/lib64, which is a link to

Unexpected ezstream exit
Hi,
I've been working on a customized version of ezstream and I've been
noticing that with a particular setup after playing particular tracks
ezstream terminates. I say terminates because there are no error
messages, it just exits. I've tried this on both my version and the
stock version available via icecast.org just be certain and it happens
with both versions.

ezstream keeps getting glibc error on song
Hello everyone,
I just setup an mp3 streaming server on an old laptop I had laying
around using icecast and ezstream. The problem I am having is that when
ezstream gets to a certain song in a playlist I get the error "*** glibc
detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x080576e0 ***". I'm not
sure if it is doing this because of the song number it is or if it is a

Ezstream
Greetings,
I'm currently working on a program which utilizes Ezstream and
Icecast2 (http://r404.sf.net).
This project operates off a binary file generating the next file to be
played, eztream had the funcalitiy required (mp3 -> ogg support on the
fly) and seemed simple enough so I'm writing the modifications to
ezstream to support getting the path off of a binary.
My question, who
