ATM with linux router
Does anyone here have experience with an ATM connection from their ISP
running into a linux based router?
We have a DS3 circuit for which we we thought we could use an SBE
wanpci-1t3 card. The isp verified the card would work with their
network, but apparantly didn''t cross check the particular circuit they
were providing us.
Is it possible to do the IP packet <-> ATM cell

AW: Complete list about possible options for the config file???
Hey Joern,
the Problem is that I installed an Debian package and how can I find out
which version was included?
But I guess it is the standart version and I will have a look at the C code
but it's been a while...
But thanks anyway

Split an audio in more part and recreate the original
Hi all,
I would like to split an audio stream into more encoded flows (for
example 1, 2 and 3) that have these features:
1) The flows must be re-assemblable and must generate the original
stream (1+2+3 = original stream)
2) I can listen only the flow number 1 (even if the audio quality is
worst than the original, of course)
3) I can listen only the flows number 1 and 2 (the quality of the

Icecast 2.2
Hi,
My stream host upgraded me to 2.2 and since that time I am no longer
listed on the Icecast directory. I use SAM3 and it is setup correctly
on my end and my provider states all is set correctly there, but it
still does not work. Has anyone had this problem?
thanks,
Greg

Flac and OggFlac
HI all,
I have already added FLAC support to libsndfile and I am now
working on adding support for OggFLAC. I have a couple of
question about things that seem radically different between
regular FLAC and OggFLAC.
1) FLAC has a function:
FLAC__seekable_stream_decoder_get_decode_position
but there seems to be no corresponding function:

Who sets the mount point?

As I understand it, a source client has to specify a mount point when it
connects.
If that mount point was already specified in the icecast server config,
then the associated

icecast and LAC2005
Hi,
I gave a talk at last month's DCLUG[0] meeting on icecast and how we
used it at LAC2005[1]. I was trying to stream the talk live while also
trying to give the talk and host the meeting.
I had the streaming working fine, but then hosed my laptop trying to get
the video output to cooperate with the projector. I guess that should
teach me to not try to stream and present using the same

FFmpeg Theora encoding patch
Hi,
Attached is my patch to add theora encoding to ffmpeg's libavcodec (by
using libtheora). I am requesting help to fix the bug I mention below
and am seeking general comments before I submit the patch properly.
Files encoded using this encoder have a problem playing in VLC. The
files will not play unless "Drop late frames" has been unticked in the
advanced video settings.

Re: songs on website
Hi Christian,
Aaron Wolfe has already sent me a script he used for his online radio. I only need to customize it -- and maybe create a Debian package from it. It knows much more than I need (requests, cancels, more stations, etc.), I'll have to cut out some parts.
To answer your questions I use Debian Linux, I'll use ices2 as source, not a media player.
Thanks,
Jacint

songs on website
Hi all,
I'd like to launch a radio station that would show the current, previous
and upcoming tracks on a dynamic website.
Is there any software around that would do just this task, or do I have
to create my own scripts?
The source (ices) is on the same computer where the icecast server is.
Thanks in advance!
Yours,
Jacint

Question about the ahci kernel module: missing in the CentOS (4) Plus kernel
Is there some reason the ahci kernel module is *missing* from the
2.6.9-89.0.16.plus.c4 kernel? It is in the standard 2.6.9-89.0.16.EL
kernel. Is this due to an oversight or is there some sort of conflict?
I wanted to add IEEE1394 support to my system running CentOS 4.8. I
*looks* like what I need to do is download the kernel SRPM and patch the
config to include the IEEE1394 modules and

Icecast logging
Hi Guys,
My first post here so hello to all :-))
Anyway, my question: Does anybody know if there is a tool out there that can
process the icecast log files and return a graph of listener numbers over a
set period?
I'd like to be able to know when our most busiest time was.
Thanks very much in advance,

icecast sound compressor
Hi,
I searched the Internet to find an answers, but I didn't find anything
useful, so I'm turning to you, maybe someone has the answer.
I want to make a realtime broadcast from a Linux box. The source is the
soundcard's line-in, and it sends the stream to an Icecast server.
I would like to have realtime compressor/limiter functionalities on this
Linux box, so the outgoing signal
