AW: IE/FLASH/ICECAST
hi,
icecast 2.2.0 has to be patched slightly to work with flash-players using
the sound-object - cant find the exact link to this, maybe one of the
developers can explain? I just added 4 lines at the end of
format_mp3_send_headers() in format_mp3.c:
sock_write(client->con->sock, "Cache-Control: no-cache\r\n");
sock_write(client->con->sock, "Pragma: no-cache\r\n");

IE/FLASH/ICECAST
Hello,
I've created a macromedia flash player in order to play icecast mp3 streaming.
Icecast is configued on the port 8000 and It's ok with winamp.
In my flash movie, I've used loadSound("<streaming>",true) on a Sound object.
It's ok on Mozilla based browsers but
some user don't have sound on Internet Explorer.
D't understand? Is there an issue?
Thx

What Does Icecast Do
If you are broadcasting the same feed on all three stations, then, you
can encode at a high bit rate (FM quality - see the Icecast
documentation to decide format and bit rate). Then, use Icecast to
serve the feed and your stations can then attach to the feed and receive
their signal. You can use authentication, or even an obscure mount name
(If it isn't published anywhere, how could

Windows or Linux
We are undecided right now if we will be streaming through a linux based computer or through a windows computer. Any opinions out there? We have heard that windows presents a major problem with viruses, etc. when trying to stream. Also, can icecast be used with both linux and windows? Thanks.

Missing headers in Icecast2
Hi Karl,
I just checked in Icecast1 source, the line:
if (client_wants_content_length (con))
sock_write (con->sock, "Cache-Control: no-cache\r\nPragma:
no-cache\r\nConnection: close\r\nContent-Length: 54000000\r\n");
is located in "client.c". Shouldn't I add this line in "client.c" of
Icecast2 instead of "format_mp3.c" as you

we're running a webradio-station focussed on electronic music (http://www.play.fm), using icecast 2.2.0 (on SuSe Linux 9). we're broadcasting 4 hours of live-program each day (using streamtranscoder).
what I would like to do is to stream a generated playlist of mp3-files during the rest of t. day (using something like ezstream, which I have currently installed & played

icecast 2 compatibility with older clients
I've attached a small patch against icecast 2 which converts ice-
headers to icy- headers for clients that include icy- headers in their
request. This allows a few clients (notably xmms) to pick up stream
info they otherwise miss.

Would like to run PC Study Bible
Would like to run PC Study Bible ver. 2 from BibleSoft on Linux. Research has led me to WINE. I am new to Linux, have Mandriva 2009 installed. I just DL'ed WINE for Mandriva 2009, and got it going. I tried to install PC Study bible from CD, no dice. I then copied the entire contents of PC Study Bible folder from a windows computer to flash drive and copied it to Linux computer. Still

net/sock.c question

Hi
I have started to add bandwidth <limit> option to icecast. My ideea is to
compute the current bandwidth by estimation on each sock_write*() call.
Something like this:
1. initially we set kbps = 0, kbps_time = now and kbps_bytes = 0
2. after some time, a sock_write*() function is called which in turn calls
sock_kbps_update(nobytes);

Per Jack's suggestion, here's a different version that forces icy mode

Missing headers in Icecast2
Hi Karl,
Thanks for your help,
About the "Connection:" header, you are right, it's:
"Connection: close" and NOT "Connection: keep-alive". The protocol when the
SERVER sends the data is http 1.0. It's http 1.1 when the browser requests
the data.
I don't understand the "Content-Length: 54000000" header either. Also I
noticed the flash player on

Cisco 7920 Image
Does anyone know if there is a Smartnet contract or whatnot available from
Cisco for access to the latest 7920 images?
I've got one w/ asterisk that is exhibiting a few of the documented bugs
running 1.0.3 (1.0.7 is the latest IIRC).
Thanks!

PC Study Bible
PC Study Bible 4.2B and 4.2C have problems with the menus which are
severely vertically compressed.
Screenshot of problem:

I am using Fedora Core 3. I tried all the winehq WINE RPMs between
December and March. I think I used sidenet (not winetools) to
install IE. IE and other programs work OK.

Regardless of the xsl files.
Can't we communicate with the icecast server directly to retrieve the

minor error in http response
there is a "copy/paste" error in src/client.c, line 55 (v 2.0.0). it also exists in cvs.
in client_send_400, it should return http code 400, not 404.
i love this project and like to participate.

e-sword and other serious applications via wine
I realize that this is not exactly the right forum for this but here is my two
cents worth of comment about how e-sword now performs through Wine:
My Linux Distro is Kubuntu 10.10. My Wine version is 1.3.14. I run version
9.8.3 of e-sword. I use none of the separate e-sword modules that must be
purchased. The web site for e-sword recommends using Crossover from Code
Weavers instead of Wine. I
