xsl, xml, ARRGH!
Hello...
Coming from an Icecast 1 background, I tend to like the admin
functionality of Icecast1 over Icecast2. Fixing this is but some file
editing away, I supposed.
I'm trying to simplify the administration screens for myself and
co-sysop.
In testing, if I copy the listclients.xsl into the web directory, it
works like I would like... almost. I get a listing of every stream on the

Static files with Icecast2
You just make a config entry in the icecast2 xml file saying which directory
to use as the web root. e.g. if you give /local/music, then a file
called /local/music/ska/Specials.ogg would be streamed from the url
http://your.server:8000/ska/Specials.ogg
I don't think it makes the m3u/pls files, but you can do that in the script
that makes your web pages like you say.

Static files with Icecast2
Hello,
With Icecast1 existed the functionality to have the server feed static
content from disk. It generated a playlist file for the one file passed to
it, and off things went.
I googled around a bit and found people saying it was possible to do
this with icecast2, but the one outside link I found was now invalid.
Are there any pointers about how to add static content? Does it work

Rotary phones? (No, I'm serious)
Will the FXS cards that work with asterisk handle rotary? Are there any
channel banks that can convert rotary to touch tone (like some sorta
bridge)?
The goal is to be able to log input from rotary phones. Full PBX
functionality would be nice but...
(It's for a project, not for serious production).

Admin issues the Xth..
Hi there.
I just switched from icecast1 to icecast2. Right now I'm not sure if
that was a very good idea. I do like the ogg-support, but I lack a good
amount of documentation (Hey, I'd be glad to help you out, but how can
there be consistent documentation for a software that is only available
through cvs(-snapshots)?) and good linux source clients.
I used xmms-liveice or muse before, but

We haven't had a lot of demand for Fedora...people seem okay with CentOS!
That just in from chunkhost.com, where you help them beta test Xen for $FREE :)

icecast1 documentation
Hi guys,
Can anyone point me to some good icecast1 documentation? I looked on the
icecast.org website, but the /docs link only list the icecast2
documentation now and the whole site is void of icecast1 documentation...
Using icecast1 instead of icecast2 because I need on-demand-streaming...
Thanks,
Kelv

Some metadata missing, relaying icecast1 stream with icecast2
I'm relaying an icecast1 mp3 stream with icecast2. This works fine,
and the song title is displayed correctly no matter if I use
<relay-shoutcast-metadata>1</> or not on the relay.
But, the stream name and other metadata provided by ices0 on the
icecast1 server is not displayed in the listening client.

icecast1 documentation
Hi Geoff,
I'm a bit confused...
After reading the docs, I was under the impression that icecast2 does
not do on demand relaying?
I did a google search, found this (well, it's a year ago)
http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2004-February/006555.html
Also, in the relaying section of the icecast documentation:

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Here is a php script that parses out the stats.xml file from the admin of
the icecast2 server.
It currently only parses the page out to variables and still needs a bit of
work.
anyways here is the php source files

icecast2 and admin console
not that I'm going to go out and immediately implement anything, but what
would an icecast2 admin console provide in terms of functionality ?
and please, no "whatever icecast1 does...put it in terms of icecast2
capabilities please...

is too harsh. On the other hand, there's some truth in this, and I

Wiki mainpage, pheora software, people page, admin rights
Hello!
I'd like to add the missing link for "TheoraSoftwarePlayers"
to the mainpage. I don't feel like asking Ivo for doing Wiki
edits every time is a long term solution. Can you give me
admin rights for the Xiph wiki?
I'd also like to link to the People page from the front
page. Any idea what section I should put that link in?
Thanks in advance,
Sebastian

Perhaps, if that is the only requirement to have a fully-functional
streamer. Unfortunately, I believe this is not sufficient for the
user base. So, if the

I don't know how Icecast1 did it (I never used it other than trying for
a day years ago). Anyways, Icecast2's file serving is pretty
self-explanatory. Have <fileserve>1</fileserve> somwhere within your

send commands from external script
Hi,
I am familiar with the webinterface but there are only two commands
(kick, move listeners) and just as little statistics (where is the
source ip?).
icecast 1.3 has all the features i need, but it´s not stable/secure
enough.
i tried to use icecast1 as source pool and relay the selected streams
to icecast2.
But If I execute the relay command on icecast1 the server hangs up.
I used this
