Support for this format seems to be enabled in icecast for a while and it would be nice if one of the major open source frameworks would have been capable of streaming such content. I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp. Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict. This might actually be by design. The issue is that starting icecast gives a segmentation fault at around 80% of all starts. No core file nor a entry in error.log is posted.
