plot a function with a vector as argument
I tried to define a function using another function I defined before, and the previous function has a vector as an argument, when I tried to get the graph of the new function, there was something going wrong. Here is a simple example to explain how it happend: fr1 <- function(x,y){ x^2+x*y+1 } fr2 <- function(x){ fr1(x,3) } plot(fr2) In this case, it worked just fine. But when I

constrOptim and problem with derivative
Dear List, I am using constrOptim to solve the following fr1 <- function(x) { b0 <- x[1] b1 <- x[2] ((1/(1+exp(-b0+b1))+(1/(1+exp(-b0)))+(1/(1+exp(-b0-b1)))))/3 } As you can see, my objective function is ((1/(1+exp(-b0+b1))+(1/(1+exp(-b0)))+(1/(1+exp(-b0-b1)))))/3 and I would like to solve for both b0 and b1. If I were to use optim then I would derive the gradient of the

Hiding "Warning messages" in coxme output
Dear list, I have been trying to use coxme in R 2.3.1. When I use coxme in the following data sim.fr1, i get "Warning messages: using 'as.environment(NULL)' is deprecated" Why does it occur? How can I hide such warning message, especially when coxme is under a loop? Mohammad Ehsanul Karim (Institute of Statistical Research and Training, University of Dhaka) >

LAN Streaming
First of all, Thank you for a great program... I am trying to setup a sort of Radio Station for our College and your program is ideal. So yeah thanks. However i have a question: I understand that to stream over the internet you need a streaming server. Correct? BUT for me, streaming over our LAN, will that be necerssary? Ideally I would like to use the computer that is running Icecast to

constrOptim and further arguments
Dear List, I have the code below, where I am using the constrained optimisation package, 'constrOptim.nl' to find the values of two values, b0 and b1. I have no problems when I enter further variable information DIRECTLY into the functions, fn, and heq. In this instance I require fn to have -0.0075 appended to it, and in the case of heq, h[1] has -0.2. library(alabama)

request for change in URL pointing to facebook domain
I am requesting that we change the paths that absolutely point to the facebook URL. In the PHP client there is a method in the facebook.php file called get_facebook_url() so this is easy to change there. One reason for this: Ringside Networks is a drop in replacement for Facebook that can be used for localhost development and eventually an abstraction for most social networks - it mimics the

joining columns as in a relational database
In our recent workshop on "Multilevel Modeling in R" we discussed handling data for multilevel modeling. An classic example of such data are test scores of students grouped into schools. We may wish to model the scores as functions of both student-level covariates and school-level covariates. Such data are often organized in a multi-table format with a separate table for each level of

Hi, Two doubts. 1. What I've to replace in "NEEDED"? or I need to just run the whole command you given 2. You mean this one, rpm -qa | grep libguestfs* On Mon, Mar 16, 2015 at 5:35 PM, Richard W.M. Problems with Samba 4.5.16 - configuring a second failover AD DC and joining this to an existing domain SAMDOM
Hello I wonder if anyone here could possibly help me? I am using Samba version 4.5.16-Debian (version information taken from sudo smbstatus) on Raspbian and attempting to prototype some future network infrastructure with a couple of Raspberry Pis. So far I have sucessfully created a Samba 4 AD DC ad1.samdom.example.com. I have successfully joined my Windows 10 dekstop client to the SAMDOM

dynamically naming columns in a data frame
Hello All! I have been working with R for the last couple of weeks and I am very impressed with the capabilities. I am creating hundreds of tables and need to dynamically name the columns. Here is a small snippet of my code: # Turn my clustering data into a data.frame object. names( clusters ) <- Abbreviate( distMethods[ i ], hclustMethods[ j ] ) df <- data.frame( clusters,
