Protocol
Hi all, wanted to ask again if someone has some online documentation on the icecast (or shoutcast) protocol at the socket/data level. I'd like to write my own reader routine that can feed data to the mp3 decoder. I've gotten as far as getting the actual stream after the GET request, but lack the documentation to use the headers that are returned and seperate the mp3 data from the meta

MuSE is GPL'ed software. Is that title dynamic (ie: does it change per song to list the song name)? Or is it a one time static thing? Louis --- >8 ---- List archives:

and tell me that it is possible to make icecast broadcast titles or id3 tags. I refuse to believe that you all can talk so fondly of a program that gives you the ability to make a radiostation but not tell its listeners what is on the air.. That is just too weird.. So what do YOU do to tell people what they are listening to? Arvid www.playrec.dk -for all kinds of good music ICQ# 724069 ---

Looking for a non-graphical mp3 streaming tool
Hi; I want to use a headless, debian linux box (no console) as my audio streamer. I've installed shoutcast and icecast multiple times without problems, but I have yet to find a streaming tools as effective as WinAMP on a windows box. I don't need the graphics and don't want to listen to the source on the server (a sparcstation 10), I just want something that I can use to develop a

Two sources on one mountpoint?
also, you can try two more things: 1- make the mix by hardware: a very simple mix console can do that. you can build it starting from resistors and capacitors. You can find a lot of such circuits in google. 2- mixing by soft: I can't tell you right now which soft can do that, but may be you find someone. chao, karel --- Geoff Shang <gshang@uq.net.au> wrote: > Hi: > >

No audio with slackware for live station
He means that development of WinAmp 3 has discontinued. WA2 is being updated to support WA3's extra features (video, media library), and WinAmp 5 (2+3=5) is the main new development. You can read the announcement on the WinAmp forums. >===== Original Message From Stefan Neufeind <stefan@neufeind.net> ===== >On Fri, 16 May 2003 at 13:15:22, Geoff Shang wrote: > >> I

What's best practice for serving multiple formats from a remote icecast server?
We are running an icecast2 server in conjunction with our LPFM radio station and need a little advice. We have been serving a single 128k ogg stream from a remote server and would like to make additional formats available (e.g. mp3, lower bandwidth, etc.) I would think this has been done a few thousand times and there would be a "best practice" but I can't find it. live streaming
Hi list, I am wanting to stream audio live to my sound card, have it compressed on the fly and sent to my icecast server. I had a look at darkice (http://darkice.sourceforge.net) but I didn't seem to be able to get that to work, the stream skipped seriously and no config options or different encoder I used managed to get it sounding normal. The machine I am using to do the live encoding
