at least i found that the -kh version of icecast2 (http://xiph.org/~karl) have a config option to include theora and speex. not sure whether its functional already, though. the NEWS file of icecast-2.0-kh31 says "initial implementation of multiple Ogg codec streaming, theora, vorbis and speex. more work needed to start at theora key frame." there is however no mention of speex in

ices2 and Icecast2 on debian configuration question
Hi there, I have a Debian sarge 512 MB RAM machine with icecast2 and ices2 that I installed via aptitude. I have a 3MBit/s download and 800KBit/s upload link. I would like to configure icecast2 and ices2 properly. Here is my situation: 1)I have a dtdns address omac.darktech.org 2)icecast2 and ices2 on port 8000 would be fine. 3)I simply want to broadcast my 6 year old niece's voice which

Hello, I'm testing icecast2(apha2) and ices2(beta2). (sources 2003-08-12) ices2 with ices-playlist works fine! But I have troubles whith ices-live. When ices2 trays to read /dev/dsp a log message appears: INFO input-oss/oss_read Reached EOF, no more data available. and ices2 shutdown. the complete log file (debug=4): ******************* log *******************************************

Icecast and Ices2 manual pages
Hello everyone, In the process of packaging Icecast and Ices2 for Debian, it was necessary for me to write a set of minimal manual pages to satisfy policy requirements. Since I would be adding them to CVS as part of the debian/ directories anyway, I thought I would present them here, so they could perhaps be integrated with the other forms of packaging. They are very simple but perhaps someone

RE: Icecast dies
Is this a new build? 7/30/05 version.. Where can I find the changelog on it, as well as features setup. Sorry about the ignorance, I just now saw this part of it. Also, what is the buildtree? You can respond back private if you don't want to send this to everyone. Much Thanks ~Doc -----Original Message----- From: icecast-bounces@xiph.org [mailto:icecast-bounces@xiph.org] On Behalf

Icecast2 and Ices2 on Pentium III with Debian 6.0
Hello. On a PC Pentium III I had a audio server working properly with Icecast2 and Ices2, running on Debian 5.0 (Lenny). Now I've upgraded to Debian 6.0 (Squeeze) and after a few seconds of running everything correctly, successive cuts begin to occur in the audio. For Debian 6.0 I have used the same settings for Icecast2 and Ices2 I used in Debian 5.0. Increasing "burst" only managed

Is there a guide?
I noticed another post where it was mentioned which modules were needed etc, then followed the instructions at xiph.org for CVS. It's working now, although darkice (which is none of xiph's concern AFAIK) seg-faults..... I haven't been able to test ices2 in live mode, well, it seems to work, but I get silence.... ices2 in playlist mode only plays OGG files right? So to play a mix

Id definatly be interested in helping with the ices2 icecast2 directory protocol. Just take a look at wp.casterclub.com. Is there a list of TODO pages anywhere??? I never said that the information would be deleted. Rather, the new page will concentrate on icecast2 and related vorbis projects. The information for the older releases (as well as all the content from the Icecast1 page) will just be a click away. I'm not justifying anything. Read back to a few days ago, maybe a week or so. I asked for help documenting Icecast2 and Ices2. You just not

Why are there no "official" releases? I already told you, there *are* official releases (or, to be exact, one release), but icecast.org hasn't seen an update due to problems. Don't you think

problems streaming ogg with ices2 and icecast2
Hi there, I'm trying to stream audio from my audio card using ices2/icecast2. I've been following the unofficial HOWTO at http://www.6809.org.uk/media/ices2-howto.shtml. So, I've downloaded and installed libshout2, ices2 and icecast2. Everything starts up OK and I can get stats by pointing my browser at the admin page: <?xml version="1.0" ?> -
