Resend to correct graphic - Internet Talk Radio use Talk Show PBX
I see in the archives a brief thread between Barton and w last November
2003 about streaming to the Internet. I'd like to use an Asterisk to
mediate multiple VOIP calls originated from the Internet to the studio
to be mixed then passed out to an encoding PC thence back to Internet

Virgin Radio now on ices2 - yp not working though
This afternoon I've transferred our Ogg Vorbis Icecast2 streams from darkice
to the ices2 encoder. Apologies if you were trying to listen; I had to stop
and start the streams a few times. They should be stable now as I'm off down
the pub now! As a reminder, the URL for the streams is at
http://www.virginradio.co.uk/thestation/listen/ogg.html.
Ices2 takes slightly different parameters to

Why doesn't yp.icecast.org show my stream?
Once again, I'm clueless as to what is going on because I don't have
the source or logs to yp.icecast.org. I am touching yp.icecast.org fine:

Using Icecast relay function with dynamic IP at remote source end
Hi David, I don't think we will necessarily be on wifi, I'm sorry if I
implied that. There are a couple of events each year when we have to use
wifi, but for those I have a dedicated access point running at close to
1 watt connected directly to our ISP's network.
Okay, I was told over on the Darkice listserv that using Darkice > WAN >
Icecast is not very reliable, and my

Using Icecast relay function with dynamic IP at remote source end
ok let see if I can translate it to broadcaster terms for ya :)
A icecast server can be set up to accept direct source connection. ie dark
ice( which i do agree runs better on the machine where icecast server is.
) I do use it to trans-code the mount to different encoding.
THe icecast server can also set up as a relay, where it pulls in from the
another server. Primary used to pull the stream

Using Icecast relay function with dynamic IP at remote source end
It does not matter what IP BUTT has, it sends to the fixed IP at the
studio on port [ 8000 ] with a mount like /liveBroadcast.mp3

Using Icecast relay function with dynamic IP at remote source end
Hey,
Yes, we been just using a simple source client connecting directly to our
icecast server for years. These being a simple free solution. Also works
with other free and paid for products too. Your milage will varry with
each program, and what features it will offers.
For dynamic IPs you can use a service like noip.com. There are a few of
them to choose from. IT allow you to give your

Why doesn't yp.icecast.org show my stream?

Ah ha! I think I found the problem. Remember my setup is:
xmms -> darkice 0.7 -> relay icecast server -> main icecast server

Darkice has:
public = yes

ices, alsa, dsnoop plugin a metadata update
Hello,
I found a bug by metadata updating in ices-2.0.0.
I use icecast2 server for streaming stations of Czech Radio.
Czech Radio prefers streaming in both formats mp3 and ogg.
So - I'm using DarkIce as a live audio streamer, which does encoding
to mp3 and ogg streams together.
I would like to insert textual information about actual streaming
program, but DarkIce does not support it.

Dear all,
I am a newbie to Icecast and Darkice following this blog: http://natescrap.blogspot.com/2009/03/icecasting-with-ubuntu-and-radio-shark.html
as this is the same devices that I have here using RadioShark2 as my input device. Now I am able to listen to my local fm station fm 89.9 but would rather want it to rebroadcast to all my LAN clients using icecast2 and darkice. I have not have any

Streaming 2 different sources with darkice
I'm looking for ideas here. This probably will wind up being more of an
alsa problem, but I thought the people on this list might have been in
similar circumstances and have ideas for me.
I work at a radio station with both a webcast and FM broadcast. We want
to use icecast both for our webcast and as a backup studio to
transmitter link. However, the webcast audio needs to be

Using Icecast relay function with dynamic IP at remote source end
Right, BUTT can be set to push to studio, and studio's IP is fixed.
It doesn't appear that Icecast Master can push to a Slave at studio,
Slave at studio has to pull from Master, and Master's IP address is not
fixed. So for our remotes, BUTT is the better choice for that, and all
the other reasons you mention.
Plus, when you are recording eight bands in a 12-hour broadcast day,

Streaming radio docs
Hi:
If you're wanting to stream in MP3 using icecast 1.x, ices 0.2.3 won't do
what you want. It doesn't have soundcard input. I use darkice for this,
others use liveice (which I never got to work) and one or two other
solutions.
If you want to use Ogg Vorbis and icecast2, ices2 will work just fine. See

Frauenhofer signing off on mp3, ogg stream player for Macs?
Marvin, fair enough.
Via's licensing terms appear to apply to encoders and decoders only, and
not to transports, such as Icecast ("An AAC patent license is needed by
manufacturers or developers of end-user encoder and/or decoder
products"), so using Icecast to transport an AAC-encoded stream is not a
violation of the

Darkice "Buffer overrun": how to troubleshoot?
We're running a darkice/icecast configuration to stream our LPFM radio
station (and to provide a quick-n-dirty studio-transmitter-link). (See
config data below.)
We're getting intermittent "Buffer overrun!" errors out of darkice, and
we associate these with interruptions in our audio stream that are quite
noticeable. These occur anywhere from once to ten times per hour.
