correct way to link stream on a web page?
Thanks. I tried changing Hostname to 69.20.57.94 but the same thing
is happening. I have a free IP Address. Is there a way to bid
Icecast2 to an IP Address?

king fm m3u streams
Hi,
Thanks, that helps. What I really want however, is an MP3 stream that
can play on a WI-FI mp3 player. I know the m3u streams, but they wont
play. I can find the stream for the regular KING HD-1, but not for
opera or evergreen.

Yes, Oddcast tells me it's broadcasting test.m3u at ~32kb (I set it
this slow) and
Icecast sees this connection. It also sees when others connect, but
all attempts
result in Error 404

Thanks.
After testing the usage of .pls instead of .m3u, couldnt get it to work
any ideas on a workaround?, m3u likes xmms but on winxp windows media likes
m3u and battles winamp
for ownership (typical windows).
Is this (.m3u) an internal mime type for icecast2?

m3u problems
Hi everyone,
I am using icecast 2.0.2 using the webroot (no mount point) to serve all
the ogg files
within the folder that is the webroot. According to the documentation I
should be able to take the audio
(test.org) file name and add a .m3u extension, and icecast should
automatically generate a m3u file in response.
However at the moment it serves the test.org file as the m3u file. This

m3u - mine type
Hi icecast,
I'm having a "bizarre" problem with the m3u extension.
I read somewhere to add ".m3u" in a link on a web page to make winamp
load and play the stream.
It works very fine, but ONLY in my LAN.
When I call http://192.168.1.2:8002/status.xsl, i got the "click here to
listen" which is link to the moint point + .m3u (/MyStream.ogg.m3u)
I click, winamp load

Automatic Update of MP3 Files
Well, not quite. The radio network that carries my two radio shows does on-demand and live.
We just wanted an on-demand streamer for our own needs.
The code from our webmaster to update after a linked file is replaced is:

random playing order and forum location question
1. where can I find the web-based forum? I'd like to search the solution,
because I was able to setup Shoutcast2 for streaming only one mp3 file, but
nothing else at all. (I did read the faq, the help 2 times, the logs, I even
checked the Tcp/ip traffic of the port of 8000... not found the solution). I
haven't downloaded the source code, because I was too sleepy. (and angry
:-( )

mp3-streaming client for icecast2
Hi!
I'm looking for a streaming client for the icecast2-server. It should
just feed mp3-files from a playlist to the icecast2-server. The old
shout doesn't work:
hout -P a -e 8000 -x -p /big/m3u/list.m3u

Customized M3u for Icecast. Are there additional switches on XML / M3u Ezstream to override MetaData Tags in Mp3 with alternate tags
Hello. I have been streaming IceCast for about three years now and have
run into a problem, which I hope this forum can resolve
We stream non copyright songs from independent musicians. When they
upload their music to our site, they
upload Mp3's of which some have entered the MetaData information in the
MP3. Problem, musicians dont always do this, leaving
the meta data very sparse.... When

icecast & china
Tried with http://zhongshuobeijing.dyndns.org:7000/streamname.m3u
but was blocked. And at last resolve:
http://139.168.32.224:7000/streamname.m3u
is that what you mean? no, perhaps you mean the localhost? "bicho" is
its name. Pardon me if i'm confused on this.
Will also, tomorrow, try your suggestion of port 443 and Ross'
suggestion of the web port.
cheers, iain
