Mountpoint problems...
Re: [Icecast]
Alright, basically I want to be able to broadcast a single stream of
what my Winamp is currently playing, so instead of having to send
people a song, they can just tune into my radio. All attempts I've
made result in them not being able to connect and my Winamp to stutter
when it plays mp3's. Even on lower bitrate settings, it still makes
my songs stutter.

Mountpoint problems...
Hi,
Ok. clarification of terms here.
A mountpoint is simply what is used to differenciate one stream from
another. It doesn't physically exist until it is created by a source
connecting to it, and unless you want to handle it differently from any
other mountpoint, there's no need to define it anywhere except in the
source client.
Here's an example (a simple one). You and I

osx and icecast
I've got two quick q's about icecast. If these two q's have already
been answered, could someone let me know when so I know where to look
in the archives?
Here's the siutation. Macamp has now gone bunk and I need to broadcast
my dj show from my home to a server that has NullSoft shoutcast. The
dj's normally use winamp's shoutcast plugin to broadcast to the
shoutcast

Limiting mountpoints
Hi List,
I'm pretty new to IceCast and I've got a question,
Is it possible to limit the amount and types of streams (mountpoints) a
user creates?
Scenario:
I've got several users (say 10), that I want to be able to stream
through my server. But to limit the bandwith costs I'd like to limit
the amount of data they stream.
- The mount specific options will allow me to

Log analysis
Hi everyone,
Ok, so I admit I'm asking this to avoid having to do my own research. but
I'm also asking in the hopes of avoiding doing my own scripting.
ACB Radio is looking at moving across to Icecast. There's really not a lot
to stop us at this point. But we are keen to retain access to total
listener hours, average listen time and amount of data served per
mountpoint.

Live streaming from Mac OS X
Hi Geoff!
Thanks for ur reply
Is there a way to tell icecast that the stream is mp3 ?
Mac OS X has another way of live streaming using Quicktime Broadcaster,
however, i am not able to make it work with MPlayer2. It works file
with a quicktime client. There seems to be some issues with the SDP
files that Quicktime creates for playing the audio and mplayer.
Nicecast is kindof exactly what i

URL format for Icecast2 metadata updates
Hi,
What's the URL format for Icecast2 metadata updates? I thought this info
would be in the source docs somewhere but apparently not. I've got a
client which lacks Icecast2 native metadata updates and even for a C hack
like myself, this should be pretty easy to add given the shoutcast code
that already exists in there. I just need the format.
Geoff.

Question about relays, mountpoints and fallback
Hi,
I'm trying to make the following situation work:
We have a jukebox (/jukebox.ogg) and live DJs (/live.ogg). The jukebox
should be the active stream when no DJ is connected and also the
fallback if the DJs connection should drop.
However, when a DJ is connected, one should not be able to listen to the
jukebox correctly. So there would be 1 effective stream as a result.
