Cannot build ices0/libshout2 on Mac OSX 10.4.2
Hi - I'm rebuilding my OSX system and I can't get ices0 to build - or to be more exact, can't get libshout2 to build. I started by using DarwinPorts, and icecast2 & libogg & libvorbis seemed to build OK. The install of ices0 then gave up at the libshout2 config stage with output like this: [...] checking for libvorbis... ok checking for struct ovectl_ratemanage_arg... no

How to tell Ices0 reloading the playlist?
Hi all! How can I tell ices0 to refersh/reload the playlist? I thought it would be done automaticaly, but now if I changed the playlist, Ices didn't see this. Played funny the old one again and again. Is it possible to get ices a kick to reload the playlist? Greetings Anatol

Serving a playlist.pls / listen.m3u file
Hi - I've heard that Icecast provides a fake "playlist file" along the lines of http://blahblah:8000/listen.m3u or http://blahblah:8000/playlist.pls because Quicktime can't seem to handle the stream without a playlist file to wrap it up. (There may be other reasons.) However, I can't seem to find any documentation about this, and guessing various URLs on my icecast2.0.1

libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 on Win32. Announce
Hi Abhijit I can't answer your questions but I would be very interested in a fully working binary of Ices2 for Win32 once it's ready. Thanks for the effort. Ices0 & Icecast2
Hi, I would like to stream MP3 to Icecast2 and read in the archives that this should work fine with ices0. I compiled and installed both icecast2 and ices0 fine, but ices0 seems to fail to authenticate. ices0, lame, and m4a
Ok, I don't know what I'm doing wrong here, so I signed up to the mailing list. Here's the situation: I have an extensive music collection and have just purchased an iPod. I already have ripped a few of my CDs (about 4Gb worth) in an mp3 format (previously had an mp3 CD player), but I'm not planning to rip the rest of my CD collection in an mp3 format. At the moment, I'm

icecast2 setup problem - unable to open logfiles
running it as myself ("dan") - the same as the owner of the logfiles and of the containing folder. i did try running it as root at first, but as you probably know, you get a warning message if you try to do that. dan On Tue, 7 Dec 2004 13:03:08 -0800, Daniel <lpmusix@gmail.com> wrote: > what user are you running icecast as? > > > > > On Tue, 7 Dec 2004

ices0 SIGHUP
Hello, the manpage of ices0 states that on SIGHUP, it'll reopen config and playlist. However, if I change the playlist and HUP, it seems it's still using the old one. Is this expected beharviour and I'm just missing something? Thanks for any insight, Frank

Playlist handling
I have some questions about how the playlist handling works in ices2. I'm trying to decide whether I want to use the script option within ices or set up a cron job that writes a new playlist.txt every so often. I play live recordings and want to minimize any gaps between files, so the internal scripting option seems like it would introduce even longer gaps than occur with straight

Re: STATs tools?
I just wanted to point out that it's "stats", not "STATs". "Stats" is not an acronym! It's an abbreviation; it's short for "statistics". ices0 systemd package?
Not sure what the ices0 development plans are regarding Fedora systemd support. A basic start may be as listed below. Just note that after install, depending on the instance of ices0 being started, use 'systemctl start ices0 at 0.service'. See the installed unit service file ices0 at .service for additional information. Spec file: ftp://ftp.bkyoung.com/pub/specs/ices0.spec.tgz Maybe to

Crossfader for ices 0.3
FYI, I've added a crossfader to the ices0 trunk in subversion: http://svn.xiph.org/icecast/trunk/ices0 It requires LAME support (of course). To use it, either pass -C <secs> on the command line, or add a <Crossfade>secs</Crossfade> node to the Playlist section of the config file. Reencoding must also be enabled on your stream. NOTE: the crossfader can't resample, so all

libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 on Win32. Announce
Hello.. I have libshout2, ices0-3 and ices2 compiling on Win32 with MSVC++ 6.0. However, I don't know where to upload the code and if someone is kind enuff to point out the location(s)/procedure that would be great. I will put a readme in the distro for compiling procedures. ices2 compiles but doesn't run correctly (yet). There are some issues related to parsing the ices-playlist.xml
