Icecast 404 in the stats page
Hi, When I open the stats page on the icecast server, I get the basic info, but images and stuff generate 404's, although all the files are there and readable by the user that icecast runs under: This one works: 80.127.65.160 - - [30/Jan/2005:18:15:08 +0000] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 44 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl-NL; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050129"

Icecast 2.3.0 RC2 Annoucement
Ok, this bug has been identified, logged, and fixed in SVN. We will be most likely building an RC3 in short order... oddsock At 03:43 PM 9/9/2005, Joel Ebel wrote: >Playing around with it some, it seems to be related to the web >interface. Installation and Configuration Issues
Hi group, FYI, I have successfully installed and ran icecast1 on my home Debian machine. I am now attempting to create a production server with icecast2 for MP3 streaming of some educational radio shows that we produce here. I'm running into some snags. I have gotten icecast2 installed. However, when I go to the status page (http://localhost:8000/status.xsl), I get served a page, but

FW: Tip: using icecast in chroot mode may break timestamp inaccess.log
Please post to the mailing list the next time Ralf. I'm not using yp directory listings, but I can guess why it is not working. You're probably missing the libcurl.so library in your chroot jail directories. Here's the listing of files I have in the chroot jail: -----%< cut here > ls -R .: admin etc lib opt usr var web ./admin: listclients.xsl listmounts.xsl

Ices Crashing (BUS error)
Hi, I'm currently migrating from Shoutcast/MP3 to Icecast/OGG/Vorbis using ices. Unfortunately, when initialising the encoder, ices crashes with a bus error. Is there anything I can look into? Details as follows: icecast2-2.1.0,1 ices-2.0.0,1 libshout2-2.0_5,1 libogg-1.1.2_1,3 libvorbis-1.1.0_1,3 (All were installed from the ports tree) On FreeBSD ares.radiozilvervos.com 5.3-RELEASE-p4

Need Help
Hi, We realized that there are certain parameters within icecast that request specific directory path address for the program to connect upon start up...we are now trying to find an icecast.pid file but we have not been able to find it in any of the directories. Do you know were we can find that file? Thank you, Luis Barrett -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Move listeners problems
Thanks, Karl! I've checked the log files during a move command but I couldn't find anything that looked related to the problems. I've thought of upgrading to 2.3.2 but thought I should ask first if it was something common - saw that someone mailed about the same problems a couple of months ago, if I understood it correctly. /Mathias 2009/11/18 Karl Heyes <karl at xiph.org>:

Creating playlists in real-time
I've been working on a jukebox application for a while. My wife recenlty asked "You spend so much time coding that and ripping CDs... Is there a way I can listen to the songs at work?". So...I made a simple web script to add songs to the play queue and I added the ability to stream the raw audio to stdout and linked it up with ices2. My problem is I think the jukebox decodes

Deliver *sometimes* delivers via /tmp?
Hi, I'm running dovecot (1.1.7) deliver and sieve (1.1.5) on a Fedora 9 platform, using selinux targetet mode. Most of the mail deliveries goes well, but once deliver tried to copy the mail to the /tmp directory, which it seems it not allowed by selinux. I guess that deliver wants to sanitize the mail or something and therefore copies it to /tmp. Before I ask for selinux to allow this, I

Question about relays, mountpoints and fallback
Hi, I'm trying to make the following situation work: We have a jukebox (/jukebox.ogg) and live DJs (/live.ogg). The jukebox should be the active stream when no DJ is connected and also the fallback if the DJs connection should drop. However, when a DJ is connected, one should not be able to listen to the jukebox correctly. So there would be 1 effective stream as a result. (Users are

Trouble running 'alsamixer' as normal user on headless box with minimal system
Hi, I just transformed an old Pentium III 500 into a headless jukebox. It's installed in the basement, near the stereo. There's only a base CentOS system on it (GNOME unchecked, package customization checked and then everything unchecked). From there on, I just installed the ALSA utils, and vorbis-tools. The machine is only supposed to do one thing (and to do it well, UNIX philosophy

Adding authenticated mountpoints
I've got a jukebox type programme streaming out through multiple Ices (0.4) sources, and an Icecast (2.2) server streaming to the listeners over the web. As a new user starts to play tracks on the jukebox, it writes a new ices.conf file (with the specific mountpoint, bitrate etc for that user) and spawns an instance of Ices to stream out that user's music. As it stands today Icecast

Adding authenticated mountpoints
OK, so let me check I understand how the timing must work: 0) New user joins the jukebox and wants to start listening to music. Jukebox app selects a mountpoint name, user ID and password 1) Modify the icecast.conf file with the new mountpoint 2) Send HUP to icecast 3) Set up username:password for new stream 4) Create new stream's ices.conf file 5) Spawn new instance of ices to stream

building a multi-user-jukebox with icecast..need some advice
hi I'm trying to build a prototype for something I've had in mind for quite some years and finally is approaching to become reality. But let me explain the circumstances: I have a collection of albums (5000+) ripped to HQ VBR MP3's and use my own web-interface to operate my jukebox (written in php, does all I need, playlist manipulations, add whole albums, search my whole collection
