IceCast as a WinXP Service?? plus 2 Qs more..
Hello!
I am a student in a university department here in Greece, and we are
developing a WebCast solution for our new radio station we have made. We
work with Oddcast plugin for WinAMP, which connects to an IceCast_v2 server,
which runs on a WinXP machine.
I would like to ask for 2 major issues we face:

Hello IceCasters!
I am new to the community here, so forgive me for not knowing a lot about
the issue. I am a student in a University in Greece. I would like to ask a

find a way through this...

Sorry Brendan-
My intent is far from spam. There have been several questions asked about
the availability of AAC/aacPlus streaming on the Icecast lists, as well as
other streaming and codec forums. My intent is simply an Icecast2
compliant AAC/aacPlus encoder awareness issue, although I agree with you
that it is advertising.
We do have quite a bit of information in our Opticodec-PC

Icecast2 Server - AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus Support
Hello-
You guys have done an excellent job with the Icecast2 server.
I probably don't need to tell you that, but I did anyway.
We are Coding Technologies licensees and have recently developed a
streaming audio encoder supporting AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus using RTSP/RTP,
SHOUTcast HTTP/ICY, and Icecast2 HTTP/ICY, Orban Opticodec-PC.

Streaming Council Debate on Software Patents via Cell Phone?
I'm looking for a solution to provide a live stream of the debate on
Sofware Patents in Monday's EU Council of Ministers [1]. Here's what I've in
mind:
* Council --> mobile phone --> software answering machine --> Internet
server
* Council --> mobile phone --> VOIP --> Internet server
Has anyone ever streamed something via a cell phone? How would you

gmp package installation on CentOS 5.2
Hello,
Last year, I installed CentOS 5.2 on an HP Proliant Server. Along with other packages, the gmp and gmp-devel version 4.1.4 packages were installed. To the best of my knowledge these packages do not come from the gmp team.
Recently, I built an rpm package for gmp 5.0.1 for CentOS 5.2. I tried to update the gmp package by command
rpm -Uvh gmp-5.0.1-1.x86_64.rpm
but the update failed

streaming to dialup users gives low quality audio
Hello,
I've got two streams, one for broadband, one for dialup. Well, having
had occation to use a dialup connection recently i checked the dialup
stream. Although it was streaming what the broadband stream was, the audio
quality was audibly worse. It didn't buffer, but it didn't sound as clear as
the broadband stream. I used lame to encode the tracks to mp3 and used it's

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp.
Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict.
This might actually be by design.
I will do some further testing with Winamp and report here tomorrow.
I will also double-check with the developer of Winamp for complete
clarification.
FYI, Orban Opticodec-PC allows the use of either Content Type of aac
or aacp. aac is

Is there any function can be used to compare two probit models made from same data?
hi, people
How can we compare two probit models brought out from the same data?
Let me use the example used in "An Introduction to R".
"Consider a small, artificial example, from Silvey (1970).

congenital eye disease, the effects of which become more marked with

AAC support?
on the download page for icecast, I can read in the icecast-2.2.0
changelog that there's support for AAC:
AAC is added as a supported streaming format Not too many source clients
support streaming in this format, but we support it.
but when looking at the source code for icecast-2.2.0, I can't find
reference to AAC anywhere. in particular, in format.c the

dir.xiph.org only listing Ogg streams
Anyone wanting their AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus stream(s) listed on Tuner2,
please send request(s) with relevant information to me directly.
This is free and does not require an Orban Opticodec-PC Encoder.
This will also help lighten the load for Xiph.

Streaming AAC with libshout?
Hi,
I am wondering how to add AAC support to GStreamer's shout2send element.
Support for this format seems to be enabled in icecast for a while and it
would be nice if one of the major open source frameworks would have been
capable of streaming such content.
GStreamer's shout2send relies on the libshout library but it defines only
two formats - MP3 and Vorbis. There is no single word in
