Shoutcast compatibility suggestions
Hi: Ok, I've not managed to find any documentation on the shoutcast compatibility introduced in icecast 2.2.0, so please humour me if I missunderstand how it's meant to work. This is my understanding of it currently: 1. You configure Icecast (as shown in the shoutcast example) so that shoutcast connections get mapped to the mountpoint you define. 2. You configure a listen socket

mp3player and shoutcast
My experience told me that mp3player (command) was rather unreliable with shoutcast. I heard nothing. If I use madplay in musiconhold.conf, everything is ok. But, using mp3player in extensions.conf is better than using MoH. Pls kindly advise if we could use madplay in extensions.conf. Could we put it into system command? Best Rgds, ????????????????????????????????????????

* as conference server for shoutcast.
i.e. iax1-------+ iax2-------| iax3-------|-- * -- MeetMe -- shoutcast radio ....-------| iaxn-------+ would be a great way for corporation to broadcast meetings. board meetings live management meetings live sales demonstrations and all interactive. you get the picture. right now i'm thinking of just patching a cable from the * operator console to a shoutcast server.

Meetme conf and Shoutcast
We would like to know if there is a way to broadcast (in realtime) a conferance. We hold large phone conferances and would like to know if we could have some of our users listen over a streaming services. Formats we have looked at include: Shoutcast,Real Networks,QuickTime, and dare I say Windows Media player. The issue we have, is that I can not find a way to transfer the stream in realtime

Anyone Know Shoutcast?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Scott, I run a shoutcast server that uses relays. Shoutcast doesn't do anything with mount points, to my knowledge. You connect using ip:port format only. Feel free to email me off list with any questions you've got. You might also try the shoutcast discussion list, which is where its really supported. The sign up is on the shoutcast page.

Problem streaming to shoutcast w/ liveice
When you're streaming to a Shoutcast server w/ liveice (or any icecast source tools), the port in liveice.cfg needs to be set to one port higher than the Shoutcast server base port. Shoutcast uses the base port for metadata & port+1 for the stream data. If you exit liveice with ctrl-c (rather than the command it specifies) it usually won't screw up your session settings. Hope this

yp.shoutcast.com
Thanks to Adam Greenbaum for recently helping me get libshout fully icy compatible. I'll be releasing a new libshout and libshout-perl this weekend, but int he meantime, you can grab the head of CVS for each and you'll get the same thing. Also, he tracked down some yp.shoutcast.com problems, and I have checked in a solution that lists icecast servers on yp.shoutcast.com once again.

yp.shoutcast.com 404 errors...
In trying to find out why neither icecast nor shoutcast no longer lists my radio station (I thought it might be the connectivity issues which plagued me this month), I find this: >> unfortunately, the kind folks over at Nullsoft axed all icecast entries on >> their YP... >> Quote from Tom Pepper : >> >> "I also had to pull support for icecast today from the

Info on Icecast/Shoutcast
I've been lurkin' for awhile and reading up on stuff out there on the web. But, do you really need to have Shoutcast in order to run Icecast? I've looked thru the icecast.config file and looks like you can set a path you MP3 directory, correct? Also, I'm able to manage the icecast server from a web browser correct. I entered in http://phoenix.miller.com:8000 and it brought up
