icecast2.2 and aac?
Hi All,
Got today the Orban Opticodec-PC encoder LE and it sounds great at
32Kbps and 44.1Khz and even lower it sounds great!!
Now even people with dial-up can listen to FM quality streams!
Got a test stream up, if you're intrested, with some rights free (RIAA
free) music (dutch language made by a friend of mine).

ICecast i capable of sorts of streams, that is not your problem.
Your stream source client (DSP) is the part who must be capable of streaming the format you want.
For AAC use oddcast DSP www.oddsock.org capabale of AAC, LAME Mp3, and OGG (Free to use) very good at OGG specially with the vorbis 1.1 aoTuVb3 DLLs
For AAC Plus (HE_AAC) use Orban opticodec for PC (witch is capable of every bitrate

FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for WMP Supports Icecast2
A FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for Microsoft Windows Media Player that
fully supports the Icecast2 Server is available for download here:
http://www.orban.com/plugin
FYI:
This plugin supports .asx for Windows Media Player NOT .pls or .m3u.
Also streams can be opened directly by using newly created UIL
redirectors, e.g., icyx:// instead of http:// and rtpx:// instead of
rtsp://. This is all covered

Ok, I read the Read Me.
So icyx://boa.mediacast1.com:9292/stream.aac works.
I don't understand why the http syntax cannot be made to work. This
works fine for Ogg Vorbis streams using the Illumination DirectShow
filter.

Icecast2 Server - AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus Support
Hello-
You guys have done an excellent job with the Icecast2 server.
I probably don't need to tell you that, but I did anyway.
We are Coding Technologies licensees and have recently developed a
streaming audio encoder supporting AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus using RTSP/RTP,
SHOUTcast HTTP/ICY, and Icecast2 HTTP/ICY, Orban Opticodec-PC.

AAC support?
on the download page for icecast, I can read in the icecast-2.2.0
changelog that there's support for AAC:
AAC is added as a supported streaming format Not too many source clients
support streaming in this format, but we support it.
but when looking at the source code for icecast-2.2.0, I can't find
reference to AAC anywhere. in particular, in format.c the
format_get_type function only

Streaming AAC with libshout?
Hi,
I am wondering how to add AAC support to GStreamer's shout2send element.
Support for this format seems to be enabled in icecast for a while and it
would be nice if one of the major open source frameworks would have been
capable of streaming such content.
GStreamer's shout2send relies on the libshout library but it defines only
two formats - MP3 and Vorbis. There is no single word in

The project was never about science, but about freedom.

Streaming AAC with libshout?
Hi Greg,
thank you for recommendation but my question is related to a different
topic.
I would rather say that Orban should finally notice that selling standalone
windows app is not a solution for everyone as it does not integrate well
with SaaS solutions.

Icecast 2.2 with Opticodec - dropping stream
Hello All,
We own an Orban Opticodec LE1010 and we are testing it to use with
Icecast 2.2 (no relays are used, only one icecast 2.2 is working in one
system)
With both linux and win32 versions of Icecast2.2 Opticodec with
aacplus-v2-32kbps stream generates the following errors:

Thomas, it is a bit ridiculous, to be honest. If whole open source
community have been thinking like this none of the linux distros would have
ever had any multimedia player that is usable by regular user because all
of the would have been supporting only Vorbis and Theora. For me, one of
the best things in open source is its interoperability, not that it is a
ghetto.
And you won't reverse

how to do a count with a variable...
hi guys, got this problem...
in my controller, when i wanna do a @temp.count it fails...
then i went to try counter = @temp.count which also failed..

count = 0
self.each do |record|
count ++

how to generate a function from a linear model
Hi All,
I am trying to generate a function from a linear model. I think there
should be build-in function that perform this action but I've had no
luck finding it.
For example, I have a model created using lm().
model <- lm(sat.d~1+sat.n+I(sat.n^2))
What I would like to have is a function (similar to the one generated
by splinefun()) so that I can use it on different data-sets.
