plot command error message
I tried to plot a clustered linear regression model with the cplot command in R (code below). Leaflet is a binary variable (I know logit would be better), partisan is nummeric variable (0-4) and partisan_mis a dummy (0,1). As you can see it is clustered around two variables: around individuals and around the specific survey. When I try to run the cplot command I always get this error message:

ezstream
hi everybody. I am involved in a Internet Radio Station in Bristol UK. We are using a icecast 2 server and are trying to work out what to use to upstream. Currently we are using darkice which seems to work well. However it does not support playlists. I have looked at muse-streamer but it is currently far to unstable. Therefore ices or ezstream seem to be the option. From what I can gather

error message trying to plot survival curves from hypothetical covariate profiles
Dear colleagues, following John Fox' advice in this article (http://cran.r-project.org/doc/contrib/Fox-Companion/appendix-cox-regression.pdf), I'm trying to create a new data frame to examine the differential survival curves from a combination of covariates. These are derived from a Cox Proportional Hazards model I fit to data about the diffusion of a particular policy across American

Composite Primary Keys
Have been looking into using rails but am finding the "Composite Primary Keys are Bad" thing a tad disturbing (to put it mildly). I have been working with RDBMS systems for over fifteen years and this is the first time I have herd the idea questioned. I have cone across using surrogate keys which mirror the composite key for performance reasons in VERY big databases but I have never

[LLVMdev] [AArch64] Question about far call
Hi, For the following code: void foo (); int main () {foo();} llvm emits "bl foo" Then I set foo at a far address in linking: aarch64-linux-gnu-gcc -Wl,--defsym=foo=0x80000000 a.o -o a.exe I got an error from ld: a.c:(.text+0x8): relocation truncated to fit: R_AARCH64_CALL26 against symbol `foo' define in *ABS* section in a.exe The question is: do I

BLX relocation regression on Thumb2 bot
Hi Tim, You seem to be working around BLX support on ARM, and this linker error has cropped up on our buildbot: http://lab.llvm.org:8011/builders/clang-cmake-thumbv7-a15-full-sh/builds/3526 llvm/tools/clang/lib/StaticAnalyzer/Checkers/MallocChecker.cpp:

Jumpy Video
Hi! I tried two theora experiments lately... One encoding a Quicktime MOV file using ffmpeg2theora and one using Thoggen. Both times I had a very jumpy result... The thoggen-encoded DVD would 'jump' every half second or so, as if there was a slight, perhaps 20ms pause. Audio would remain synced though. The quicktime file would jump even more, being reduced to looking like a crisp 2fps

subsetting based on joint values of critera
Dear colleagues, I have a dataset that looks as below. I would like to make a new dataset that excludes the cases which are joint conjunctions of particular state names and years, so Connecticut and 2010, Maryland and 2010 and Vermont and 2010. I'm trying the following subset code: newdata<- subset(bpa, (!State=="Connecticut" & year<"2010")) It appears that

Automating binning for chisq.test()
The standard chisq.test() and fisher.test() functions, when applied to two distributions (to determine whether the same underlying distribution applies to both) requires one to pre-bin the distributions. Is there a library function (either built-in or in a package) that acts more like the ks.test() function, in that one can simply pass the two distributions and have it do the necessary binning as

Self-hosting bots noise
Hi David/Galina, FYI, I found one big reason why self-hosting bots fail long after the offending commit is tested: dirty builds. In a dirty build (no make clean), when a file X is changed that breaks file Y, the bot will only accuse the failure when file Y is changed, too, so that stage1 with modified X will compile file Y, and break. At hindsight, it's obvious. But I hadn't connected
