Hi, I am new to this, so please bear with me if this has been answered before. I compiled IceS to stream mp3s to Icecast and it works fine except for two things. 1. I cannot get XML module to work ie. the conf file doesn't work I have compiled and installed libxml-1.8.11 but when I start up IceS, it says something about the namespace. So I tried compiling libxml2 but that, for some reason,

ices 0.2.2 does not reencode mp3s
I recently upgraded ices from 0.1.0 to 0.2.2. I have found that it is not reencoding my mp3 stream, even though I have it configured to. This is on a RedHat linux 7.0 system, kernel 2.4.11 ices build commands: ./configure --with-perl --with-lame \ --with-lame-includes=/usr/local/src/lame-3.89/include \ --with-lame-libraries=/usr/local/src/lame-3.89/libmp3lame/.libs gmake

Multiple Stream? Request for Config
Greeting all -- I'm having some problems setting up multiple streams with iceS, for example, a hi-bandwidth and lo-bandwidth stream of the same audio. Could someone post a config that works in this case? thanks .oOo.oOo.o..o.oOo.oOo. Ben Wilson admin -- thelocust.org ben@thelocust.org 'OoO'OoO'O''O'OoO'OoO' --- >8 ---- List archives:

You are trying to use ices 2 with an ices version 1 config file. ices-0.4 Reencode problems
Since the mailing list archives are a bit difficult to go through at the moment, I'll go ahead and simply ask. If I fire up ices-0.4 with reencode enabled, at pretty much the end of every song I get an error: bitstream problem: resyncing... Occasionally it will also throw in a: mpg123: Can't rewind stream by NNN bits! And eventually after a dozen songs or so I'll get a rash

cannot get icecast and ices to talk...authentication failed
I have a weird one... I installed icecast 2 and ices .23 on Mandake, and am not having any luck I compiled and installed the nightly icecast just today. It seems to work fine, however when I telnet to it (10.0.0.3, port 8000), I am unable to login unless the first line contains ONLY the password. I used ethereal to see that iceS is trying to send to authenticate, and it is sending (as the first

ices: PQueue module error
Hi All-- I'm trying to get icecast working with ices, but I'm having a problem with the PQueue module. I'm including my ices.connf file and verbose output when running in non-daemon mode below. I'm running on Fedora Core 1, and have all packages updated (via yum). I'd greatly appreciate any insights. Jim <p><?xml version="1.0"?>

Multiple mount points without dynamic reencoding
Hello: I am running the icecast2.3.2 server and ices0.4 with a perl script which provides the filename of the next track to play. I am reencoding in advance using ffmpeg, which has been very reliable. My main stream is mp3, 64kbps / 44.1 kHz (mono) and I have pre-reencoded the tracks to 32kbps / 22.05 kHz (mono), for a lower data rate stream. At this time, I have not figured out how to get a

Swfdec git install redux
Please ignore my previous message to the list, there was an error between keyboard and chair. I have completed some from-git install documentation, available here: http://revis.co.uk/site/?q=node/157 I'll generalise it, transfer it to the wiki and tidy up the installation page shortly. Installation issues: The configure script seems to have a small glitch in that for the packages

I am a Idiot

Icecast always(1) gets it's input from a socket, generally via some 'source' program like ices, liveice, shout, etc. Now, as for which source you want, that depends on how you are streaming. If you are

sysctl maxfiles
By default FreeBSD 7.0 shipped with the sysctls set to: kern.maxfiles: 12328 kern.maxfilesperproc: 11095 We recently bumped up against these limits in an unfortunate way and we are going to raise them. I have some questions: * why are the numbers set the way they are? They aren't round numbers, they aren't powers of 2. But they were arrived at somehow with planning and thought

liblame vs libmp3lame.... anyways, it don't work.
I took the latest installation of lame (both stable and beta) and installed those with the default install variables. The last one I compiled was lame3.87. I then have the ices-0.0.1.beta5 and config'd the sources with ./configure --with-perl --with-lame and installed. Yet, when I run ices -R, it complains with the following line when I run the -R option: Support for reencoding with

Ices -> Icecast Authentication Failure
Hello, list -- Sorry for the dumb post about confirmation -- I've always wanted to run majordomo so I could see how this stuff works. Whoops! I guess replying to the email really isn't the thing to do -- even though it explicitly states it as an option... My problem, outside of list etiquette, is this: having compiled all the latest, installed, etc., ... having read all I can find
