how to get "now playing"
greetings! i'd like to incorporate a "now playing" section on my web page (links to the icecast2 server) i'm guessing i have to get the <xsl:value-of select="artist" /> and <xsl:value-of select="title" /> tags from the status.xsl file. not sure what else needs to be coded into the index.html file to get this info. can anybody point me in the

Icecast 2.2.0 and Ices2: no audio
Folks: I'm trying to set up a streaming server under Fedora Core 2 using Icecast 2.2.0. Everything compiles; everything runs. There are no indications of a problem in any of the log files. When I look at http://192.168.0.128:8000/status.xsl, everything looks ok. But when I click on "Click to listen", it brings up xmms, but there's no indication of audio, and xmms shows a bit

Icecast 2.3.2 doesn't list all mount points
Hello, I've upgraded from 2.3.1 to 2.3.2. I've been used to list all mount points by <xsl:for-each select="source"/> under /icestats. Howver now the /icestats elemets contains only source elemets which have been requested at least once. That means the list (e.g. /stats.xsl under web directory) is empty after server start. I've found out this regresion presents only

Custom .xsl files?

Yes. Though I don't know if using an arbitrary one works from the admin directory. Certainly you can put them in icecast's webroot directory (or some

Icecast Digest, Vol 146, Issue 7
Thank you Philipp. I'm running icecast 2.4.2 and based on the "Available Raw Data" in the Icecast docs page (http://icecast.org/docs/ icecast-2.4.0/server-stats.html), it doesn't appear "album" or "year" are available for the stats-json.xsl file to get. But it may be misunderstanding what I'm seeing and just don't know how to properly customize the

Icecast Fedora9 migration problems
Ok, First I want to start off with this isn't the first icecast I have cloned, but it is the first where I have not only jumped Fedora release versions, but arch types as well (i386 - x86_64) and I am having strange problems. The Icecast versions are the same between the old and new servers. The biggest being is that the server binds to whatever port it feels like instead of the bind port

Source XML for status.xsl
I've been trying to track down this mysterious 'icestats' file that the status.xsl and status2.xsl read data from. There is no physical file as far as I can tell, but a perusal of the code seems to indicate that the server generates it on the fly when the XSL file requests it. So then I tried servername.com:8000/icestats but I got nothing. So I really got nothing, I would prefer

Problem with fallback on 2.31 on Windows XP
If this isn't supported, then I apologize for the disruption, I'll just tell my customer / client / friend it's time to seriously rethink what they're trying to do. If support is possible, here's the problem: I took a running icecast.xml file from a configuration that works. It has live, backup, and listener (called /broadband) mount points. A continuously running stream

Listener stats
Hello I’m new to Icecast and I’m using version 2.4.4. How would I be able to get a Jason file that has listener information specifically listener location or at least the IP address. I can get listener count but I’m looking for location through the IP. I need to write a php script to gather this information. I have checked the status-Jason.xsl and the xml2json.xsl but neither gives me that

Server not moving clients to fallback
Hi, thanks in advance for any help that can be provided for this head-scratcher. I'm configuring a new server and can't get it to move listen clients to the fallback file when the source client disconnects. I probably have a misconfiguration in icecast.xml. Here is the <mount> section: <mount type="normal">

<fallback-override>
Hello! I have a fallback mount point with <fallback-override>. When my source client reconnects, the media player is moved mack to the right mount point but the media players I have tried (mplayer and VLC) keep playing the fallback. Is this because of my source client (liquidsoap), icecast or the media players? I think I noticed some message in mplayer about mime type or something.

problem creating a systemd service
Hello! Icecast behaves oddly for me in debian testing, somehow the permissions on my log file directory was set to root:adm if I remember things right. Also there was no systemd service starting when I tried to start from /etc/init.d, somehow init services refer to systemd services nowadays whether they exist or not. I tried to create a systemd service looking like this: [Unit]

relay icecast to shoutcast
Hello List Having great trouble relaying an icecast2 mp3 stream to a shoutcast server. My client program successfully streams to icecast which is listening on port 7000. I can listen to this stream with mozilla and xmms with no problems. I can also stream my client directly to the shoutcast server but it makes the client unstable (which is why i'm attempting a relay). The shoutcast server is

Listener stats
Hello Jordan Thanks for the reply.  I commented out all the fields in the status-json.xsl but it didn't give me the listener IP.  The example below would show me the source IP.  I can get the IP from the web interface at this location, http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000/admin/listclients.xsl?mount=/dhantal, but that means I would have to scrape the web interface which I don't want to do.
