Test Active Directory sync module: lpep
Hi All
I have just published a module that synchronises users and groups from
Active Directory into a Puppet manifest, which can then be rolled out to
subscribed agents/workstations. The module maintains generated uids and
gids in an SQLite database. It has only been tested on Puppet Enterprise
2.6.1 and RHEL 6.3 so far, at my end.
The module is called lpep and you can view it at

Hi Adam,
Thanks for your responce. I was planning on doing both, the encoding
and serving, form the same machine, and I'm not sure I see any
stability gains by splitting it up. Understand having, for example, a
file server and mail server on different machines, so if one goes down
you can still use the other. But in this case, one service depends on
the other (the server has nothing to

Matt, I guess you are aware you will need :
1. an encoder (eg. MuSE, ICES, DARKICE etc)
2. a streaming server (eg. Icecast2)
These can run on the same machine but its generally not a good idea
(although others may disagree with this but I woudl rather not have a
crticial system where a single point of failure could bring the whole
thing to a stop).
The machine you mention (the PIII) should be

Hi cloper,
did you tried with
muse -o
?
that deactivates usage of the soundcard.
anyway, if /dev/dsp is not present, muse runs anyway.

License quandry in the Fedora sub-space of all R packages
There was mention of this [r-sig-fedora at r-project.org] mailing
list on one of the other R lists overnight. I thought the
list needed a bit of posting, as I could not recall seeing
content recently on it. I cross post to the Red Hat hosted
list as well, it raises issues relevant there as well
I have been packaging in support of many of the financial
packages at CRAN and in R-Forge [

Is that title dynamic (ie: does it change per song to list the song name)?
Or is it a one time static thing?

Samba Problems with Authentication against a 2K3 ADS Server
Ok, here's the problem now......
I have Two unix boxes and Four Windows Servers here.
The two unix boxes marvin and muse are running rhes 3 and suse 9.1
stock.
Marvin uses the smbpasswd file to authenticate; I just have to sync the
passwords manually.
I am trying to setup muse using winbind and samba 3.0.2a
The problem is that the XP machines on the network don't want to
