I was under the impression icecast wrote useage statistics to that directory, and you accessed them via http://host:port/admin/ Where does the xslt file come from that it tries to access when you attempt to access the admin page? ices0.4: icecast mp3 stream for source ?
Hello together, we would like to use IceCast 2.3.1 as a mp3 streamer source for reencoding several sources of ices 0.4. It is working perfectly already by using an mp3 playlist with local stored mp3s. But our plan is to upload an 160 kbps stream and want ices 0.4 to reencode to 96, 56 and 32 kbps. Uploading 1 getting 4 streams. We are streaming with SAM Broadcaster 2. Icecast runs on SuSE 9.3

ices 0.4 can't find playlists...
Hello, I've compiled and successfully run icecast2 with ices on a single stream. But I'm running into problems running multiple streams from ices to icecast... I used the <playlist>...</playlist> syntax to run a single stream, but the docs on icecast.org seem to suggest using the <input>...</input> syntax instead. I've actually tried it both ways, with

Multiple mount points without dynamic reencoding
Hello: I am running the icecast2.3.2 server and ices0.4 with a perl script which provides the filename of the next track to play. I am reencoding in advance using ffmpeg, which has been very reliable. My main stream is mp3, 64kbps / 44.1 kHz (mono) and I have pre-reencoded the tracks to 32kbps / 22.05 kHz (mono), for a lower data rate stream. At this time, I have not figured out how to get a

two problems with flac and ices 0.4 build
i'm trying to build ices0.4 and vorbis-tools 1.0.1 with flac 1.1.1. Neither seems happy, hence the crossposting (sorry). ICES0.4 --- ices refuses to see the libFLAC library, even if i specify --with-flac=/usr/local/lib (or even just --with-flac=/usr/local/, as the configure script seems to look in the lib and include subdirectories of the specified path?). i get a configure error:

ices 0.2.2 does not reencode mp3s
I recently upgraded ices from 0.1.0 to 0.2.2. I have found that it is not reencoding my mp3 stream, even though I have it configured to. This is on a RedHat linux 7.0 system, kernel 2.4.11 ices build commands: ./configure --with-perl --with-lame \ --with-lame-includes=/usr/local/src/lame-3.89/include \ --with-lame-libraries=/usr/local/src/lame-3.89/libmp3lame/.libs gmake

ices 0.4 can't find playlists...
Maybe I'm misunderstanding ices' capabilities...is ices 0.4 only capably of handling a single playlist? Do I need to run multiple instances of ices in order to process multiple playlists? My issue is that I need to stream mp3 audio, not ogg (iTunes doesn't support .ogg yet natively), and if I'm reading the docs correctly, ices2 only supports .ogg, not .mp3. Is this correct,

I think so. :) I'd be surprised if it ran on windows though.

Ices 0.x is still developed. So is ices2. They're independent codebases with substantially different capabilities and users. Yes, in retrospect naming it ices2 was a poor

ices file name problem
I have a collection fo mp3s that I wish to stream. They came from a windows environment and when ripped they used spaces in the files names. When I prepare a file list with the spaces on the linux box it works fine with mpg123 and muse buts spits out error messages from ices and continues to cycle through the playlist until I break out of ices. <p>Error opening /music/d/m4/ANNOINTED -

PLEASSSSEE HELP
ok from the beginning .. the "otto mp3" is a software piece that can take a lot of mp3s , put them in a mysql data base and then can 1. play requests that users make on the web interface out to the sound card 2. stream the song to the browser using icecast and ices. now the icecast and ices in "general" configurations works with either a playlist or mp3s if i am not

ices 0.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.1?
I've having trouble getting ices to compile under MacOS X. Mac OS has a somewhat novel threads implementation (I'm being polite, here) and it doesn't get along well with the threads in ices -- has anyone gotten it to compile under MacOS X? Initial errors: Making all in thread cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../avl -I../log -g -pipe -pipe -fno-common -no-cpp-precomp

Multiple Stream? Request for Config

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
I have successfully set up a system with Ices0.4 and IceCast2.20 (and Tunez). It plays well using mpg123 or WinAmp. But I would like to use also my KiSS DVD player for the stream, and I have not been able to do so - It appearently needs 110% SHOUTcast compatibility. So I tried the IceCast2.3.1 - but it still didn't like the KiSS (or the other way around). In stead, I have added a SHOUTcast
