Stats Bug?
Version of Icecast: Newest Post on website 2.01
I do mp3 feeds I have mounts as /live /scanner and /nypd backup
I never thought of trying the other stats screens when it happens but the
author of simplecast says it is a issue he has told icecast authors about
but it doesn't seem to be fixed. I only happens sometimes like right now I
can't reproduce it.
I'm guessing simplecast

icecast stats
I have a patch on icecast-2.2.0 svn version which was written
specifically to support SimpleCast users to retrieve the stats for their
mountpoint and only that mountpoint. This is based on per mount-point
username password. Using HTTP authentication the client can retrieve
only http://hostname/admin/stats.xml given the correct
username/password. This will only return the stats for that

configuration & error help
Hi everybody, just a new face showing up looking for a little help
configuring IceCast.
Just installed the software with a few other programs in an attempt to
start off my own internet radio station.
Using SimpleCast to take the line-in and stream it to IceCast, which
in-turn does the obvious and streams it to the internet.
I'm looking at just creating a station of just 5 max users (for

Regardless of the xsl files.
Can't we communicate with the icecast server directly to retrieve the
information ??

Mutiple Sources
Hello,
I am running icecast with great success and Simplecast as the content
source.
I have already having multiple sources using different ports, to
increase the security I would like to allocate each source a different
password.
The documentation is a little unclear as to whether a different username
is required for each password, the Simplecast program does not allow me
to configure a

Overhead of individual mount points
I'm running a private stream which only has a handful of clients. I have found it convenient to create a separate mount point on my encoder (Simplecast) for each client. This allows me to track the current client list using the tools built into Simplecast. It also allows me to do custom streams when required on a per-destination basis.
All mount points are normally running the same

stream delay
I noticed that my ogg stream was 2 hours behind today.
Is that a normal thing with all icecast streams?
I had other people try it that have never been to that stream and they
were 2 hours behind too.
What is that caused from?
How can that be fixed?
Thanks
John

Strange behaviour with admin/stats.xsl disappearing
Greetings icecasting amigos!
I?ve had an incredibly frustrating journey getting a new icecast origin server going to supplant an older machine set for retirement.
The setup is relatively simple ? a beefy Debian bookworm host running icecast as a relaying slave pulling the streamlist from an icecast2 2.4.4 ingest server, for mass distribution.
The ingest / origin server runs fine.

icecast1 type stats logs in icecast2 ?
Hey All.
I have recently upgraded my streaming radio station to icecast2 type
streaming. I, however miss the stats logs in icecast 1. These logs
would list the number of listeners, and more importantly their ip
addresses. I parsed this onto a nice looking web page, so local users
in my LAN could know who was listening to the radio station.
I guess icecast2 has some built in web serving

Time for log entries
I'm running Icecast 2.3.1 on a Windows 2000 platform with Simplecast feeding a live stream with multiple mount points. At scheduled points in the day, I have a scheduler that launches EZstream that overrides one of the mountpoints for a local 1 hour insert.
Since we went back to standard time last weekend, the log entries in error.log have shown that the EZstream overrides have occurred

Strange occurrence
I had something happen the other night that I just can't explain. It may not be an Icecast issue at all, but I thought it was interesting enough to post.
I have a private stream with 6 mountpoints, all receiving the same 32 kbps mp3 stream from Simplecast. Both Simplecast & Icecast are running on the same Win2k system. The configuration allows me to track the comings and goings of

Radio Station
List,
Time and time again I am sure you get this question. I am trying to
setup a radiostation, and here is what I am looking for:
1. Ability for people to "call in" with say, winamp+oddcast or simplecast.
2. Ability to change password for the caller at any time.
I know by default that Icecast2 does not allow the sharing of mounts, so
what about setting up the following:
1. /radio

Move listeners problems
Thanks, Karl! I've checked the log files during a move command but I
couldn't find anything that looked related to the problems. I've
thought of upgrading to 2.3.2 but thought I should ask first if it was
something common - saw that someone mailed about the same problems a
couple of months ago, if I understood it correctly.

Getting stats from icecast2
Hi:
Just upgraded our icecast2 server. No hitches. couple of questions
though.
What do I have to request to get the .xsl page of stats? Can't remember
the page name so I don't know if it's working or not.
The other thing is stats.xml. It now seems to need authorisation. Where do
I define the username and password for this?
Geoff.

Forcing individual clients to alternate mount points
Greetings
I'm new to the forum but have been streaming successfully with
SimpleCast/IceCast2 for about 8 months. Both Simplecast and IceCast2
are running on the same Win2K system. Now I want to do something that
has me stumped. It really is a two pronged problem.
Here's the setup:
Icecast is encoding the same live audio to multiple mount points,
allowing me to easily track the

ummmm... Ok. And if I get a 404 error? Is this indicative of something in
particular?
