ices: PQueue module error
Hi All-- I'm trying to get icecast working with ices, but I'm having a problem with the PQueue module. I'm including my ices.connf file and verbose output when running in non-daemon mode below. I'm running on Fedora Core 1, and have all packages updated (via yum). I'd greatly appreciate any insights. Jim <p><?xml version="1.0"?>

bitstream problem: resyncing...
This one really has me stumped. I'm running 866MHz, 256MB RAM, 80GB Disk (7200RPM) on Linux-mandrake 8.2 icecast 1.3.12 & ices 0.2.3 & lame 3.91 all mp3s encoded with lame 3.91 or higher and --r3mix (VBR) Sorry for the long email but I'm hoping to get someone out there that's seen this before and give me some advice... I'm continually getting errors like this when running

ices0 config for high and low bandwidth users
Hello, Does anyone have a config for the above? I've got several static playlists of mp3's that i'd like to offer. Offering them for high bandwidth cable dsl users works fine, but i'd like to give them out to dialups as well. Currently whenever a dialup user connects the stream1 plays for about two seconds then goes sluggish. I'm theorizing that i'm giving to much for

Ices -> Icecast Authentication Failure
Hello, list -- Sorry for the dumb post about confirmation -- I've always wanted to run majordomo so I could see how this stuff works. Whoops! I guess replying to the email really isn't the thing to do -- even though it explicitly states it as an option... My problem, outside of list etiquette, is this: having compiled all the latest, installed, etc., ... having read all I can find

ices reencoding problem
Hi, I'm having trouble getting ices 0.2.3 to reencode MPEG-2 LSF mp3s, the files are playing back around twice as fast as they are supposed to, ie the "chipmunk effect". I'm not encoding the originals but I've tried encoding them with lame to the same effect which causes me to believe the problem is with ices' decoding. The source files are of varying bitrates and

Configuration help with ices 0.3
Well I’ve looked through the configuration file several times and I still do not see the mistake I’ve made. Icecast 2.0.1 seems to be working just fine and starts up without problems. But if I try and start ices I keep getting the error that it cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:8000 because the login failed. Yet I know the password I gave it is correct so I can only presume there is a configuration

cannot get icecast and ices to talk...authentication failed
I have a weird one... I installed icecast 2 and ices .23 on Mandake, and am not having any luck I compiled and installed the nightly icecast just today. It seems to work fine, however when I telnet to it (10.0.0.3, port 8000), I am unable to login unless the first line contains ONLY the password. I used ethereal to see that iceS is trying to send to authenticate, and it is sending (as the first

Limiting stream bandwidth
I am trying to limit the bandwidth per stream so that I can stream 2 mp3 connections from my box. I have 256 upload speed. I am using icecast 0.3 and ices 2. I made the changed listed below, restarted everything but it still seems to be streaming at max bandwith. Is there anything, besides moving to ogg vorbis -- it will happen when I have time to write the script to convert the 1000s of files

Problem connecting to icecast2
I'm no expert on Ices0.3 but that config doesn't look right to me. I'm guessing that it's imperative to have the server config as part of the stream section since you can have multiple streams from one source going to multiple destinations (I think anyways.. :) Take a look at my config for ices0.3 below : --------------------------------------------------- <?xml
