Ice Cast / win32 basic help
Do you have a source, like Oddcast, to generate the stream & send it over to Icecast for broadcast? >From: Darren <darren@dazdaz.org> >Reply-To: icecast@xiph.org >To: icecast@xiph.org >Subject: [icecast] Ice Cast / win32 basic help >Date: Mon, 22 Dec 2003 16:39:53 +0100 > >Hi, > >I've downloaded and experimented a little with the latest Windows

FW: Problem with ICES make on Solaris 8 sparc
Hey guys I am running Solaris 8 (sparc), I downloaded icecast-1.3.12.tar.gz as well as ices-0.2.3.tar.gz. I successfully installed icecast with your regular ./configure, make , make install. No problems at all. However when I ran make on ices I got this: gcc -g -O2 -Wall -o ices ices.o log.o setup.o stream.o util.o mp3.o cue.o metadata.o id3.o signals.o playlist/libplaylist.a

metadata streaming
I'm using icecast 1.3.12 and trying to get metadata streaming working so that I can see the current song being played. Sounds easy according to the docs and all other postings I've found in the archive, but I'm apparently missing something, because I simply cannot seem to get the title to change. I started off working directly with libshout, but when that didn't work (even though

Feature suggestion: Parallel ssh
Hi, A feature i've been wondering about and I have no idea if it's possible is a parallel secure shell. So a command typed on 1 system (master) can be replicated through 100 sshd's. I realise a script could be used to achieve a similiar situation, but it's not quite the same as a realtime scenario. Is this fantasy wishlist or achievable as it'd certainly be very useful? --

Masking out passwords from ps
Hi, Is there a good method to mask out the passwords so that they can be hid from a ps? Could the passwords be found by looking /proc from any masking technique... Can't see anything in the FAQ, nice new website btw :) -- Best regards, Darren mailto:darren@dazdaz.org <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage:

version confusion
You're right, the "version issue" is a mess. But it should be considerably improved within the next few days. Barring surprises, libshout 2.0 will be officially released Monday (including perl and python bindings). At the same time, ices 0.3 will be released, which does compile with libshout 2.0 (and features a million bug fixes over ices 0.2.3). The snapshots in

IceS with Perl segfault
I'm running Icecast 1.3.12 with IceS 0.2.3. I've run into a couple of issues with this new version of IceS. One I can get around, the other is causing me much frustration. With IceS 0.2.2 I had the server name in the ices.conf file set to localhost: <Server> <Hostname>localhost</Hostname> </Server> Worked fine for many months. When I upgraded to 0.2.3 I

also, keep in mind that support for streaming song titles is also a function of the source client you use.... I've been very successful with use_meta_data=1 and using either my DSP source (oddcast) or the Shoutcast DSP source.... and you can always know for sure if song titles are supported on your server by looking at the HTTP response headers from a request of the stream, (your request
