Winamp streaming to icecast2
Hello, I'm trying to set up winamp to stream a live event to an icecast2 server. I've got the icecast2 server set up, and to date have streamed playlists only via ices0 or ices2, now I'm wanting to stream live using winamp. Software wise, I'm needing to use free or open source software, the icecast2 server is a Linux machine, the Winamp will be on either a Win7 or a WinXP

streaming vorbis files from an openbsd box
Hi-- I've installed icecast2 and ices2 on an OpenBSD box. It all seems sane from the server side, but when I try to listen to my stream from winamp 2.76 with Peter Pawlowski's vorbis plugin (1.12), from a win98se box, nothing plays. Nothing is appended to the ices2 log, and the following is appended to the icescast2 log (when I terminate icecast2): *** [2001-08-02 22:05:16]

seek, pause etc using icecast ?
Hello, I have an icecast2 server streaming some mp3 files and am using winamp to listen to the stream, however I couldn't figure out if there is a way to seek or rewind. Is there a way to seek/fast forward/rewind/pause using icecast2 ? <p>Regards, -- Hiren --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe

Re:Icecast with Winamp
Hi, I can get ices2/icecast2 to broadcast ogg files in a playlist to FOOBAR in MS-Windows (and various apps in Linux). When I try to connect in WinAmp in MS-Windows, I get in error.log: [2004-02-04 21:38:39] DBUG source/source_main Client added [2004-02-04 21:38:41] DBUG format/format_generic_write_buf_to_client Client had recoverable error -1 [2004-02-04 21:38:42] DBUG

Icecast2 / Ogg / oddcastDSP / Winamp2 Constant Prebuffering
Noticing a strange issue, i'm not sure where this lies. I'm using oddcastDSP to stream Ogg to icecast2, which seems to be working ok, but using winamp (v2) to stream from icecast, winamp is constantly prebuffering, displaying a length of 0:01. Is this a known bug in either Winamp or icecast, or a configuration issue perhaps? I have a feeling this is Winamp, but I was wondering if anyone

Icecast2 / Ogg / oddcastDSP / Winamp2 Constant Prebuffering
Hrm, yes it does sound like a bug in WinAmp. Even if it does prebuffer, the length counter should be going beyond 0:01 since you've obviously been listening longer than that after the first second. =P (I don't think the counter resets after buffering, but I could be wrong.) Can you see if you can duplicate it by getting someone else to tune in to the 'cast with WinAmp?

Re:Icecast with Winamp
I am using only WinAmp 2.x and 5.x It works in WinAmp2.x and 5.x at the college network (T1 line), but not at home with cable modem (even with firewall switched off). It tries to prebuffer over 20 minutes - 5 second burst of music and then quits with message (-2:-11). Again, no problem if using FOOBAR2000, but it would be nice to have it work in WinAmp. (i meant :: .MP3 is handled for fileserving , but .MP3 is not avail for live reencoding, as far as i know .. ) for the record , the OGG streaming w/ icecast2 has been great . tho (seperate issue ) : OGG files

Sounds like WinAmp isn't storing a large enough buffer, or Icecast isn't putting a long enough buffer between what it recieves from Oddcast & what it transmits to clients. I've never had such a problem, though. Could be your connection? >===== Original Message From John Farnsworth <si@darkness.nu> ===== >Hrm, but it works fine (and the mountpoint is /dnumusic.ogg).

streaming to broadband and modem users and an intro file
Hello, I've got an icecast2 server set up. I'm streaming to it with winamp and the edcast plugin my thanks to everyone who helped me get that going. An aside is it possible to use a compressor plugin like audiostocker on an outbound stream going through edcast? I've googled that this is possible with winamp and shoutcast servers but not seeing how to run two dsp plugins to an icecast

using the latest icecast and ices to stream both ogg and mp3
I've gotten a request from another broadcasting partner to set up yet another streaming audio server. They would like to stream in both ogg and mp3 formats from off a single icecast machine. I have been searching through the archives and I have seen this mentioned as being possible, but no real configurations. I would of course place LAME on the box and use that for streaming just as I would

icecast2 ogg vorbis client request headers
That seems it may work, however the server adds the client (php proxy script in this case) and does not disconnect it, however winamp does not recieve any audio, just sits there saying BUFFERING I know its related to the amount of bytes read into the header or something in that area as my tests with shoutcast nsv resulted in the same fashion. the main goal of this is for subscription

Ogg response headers
Ok i got a few questions when a client connects (winamp) what are the incoming headers icecast looks for to signify what type(ogg or mp3) of stream the client is requesting? example (for shoutcast winamp sends icy-metadata:1) shoutcast server then recognizes its a player capable of streaming media so it sends the icy-metaint:8192 to winamp, along with a slew of other icy headers. o here is my

live streaming on the web using a link
I have upgraded my streaming servers, I have a Solaris 9 server with darkice-0.15 and Solaris 9 server with icecast-2.2.0. Now the index.html code will not work with the new versions of darkice and icecast2. I did found an email that said I needed to use http://url of site. tld/icecast mount point.m3u. So in darkice I found "mount point of this stream on the IceCast2 server" which
