Persistent audio streams?
My apologies if this is a stupid question, or has been covered in detail
somewhere that I haven't found yet. I have spent a while looking around. I'm
new to streaming audio, but I do know a thing or two about TCP/IP networking.
I'm working with a local public radio station. They have a remote transmitter
located about a hundred miles away, to serve another community. Right now

Linux Kernel 2.6, Ipsec, ADSL (dynamic addresses)
Hi,
I successfully connected quite a few servers with their associated networks
using Suse 9.1/9.2 (Kernel 2.6.x) and IPSEC tunnels. But now I have to add
another server that has a ADSL connection to the internet, that means it has a
dynamic IP address which is likely to change every few hours, since the provider
disconnects from time to time.
I found a way to restart the IPSEC connection when

Sybase ctlib Adapter
Hi,
I''ve been trying to update Will Sobel''s sybase-ctlib adapter to pass
unit tests on Rails 1.0. It''s been a slow, sloggy process for me so
far, as I''ve been learning Ruby, Rails, and Sybase administration all
in one go. (c: It''s been a saving grace to have a good starting
point (thanks Will!).

fitted.values less than observed values
Hi All,
I have some data where the dependent variable is a score, low (1:3) or
high (8:9), and the independent variables are 21 genotypic markers.
I'm fitting a logistic regression on the whole dataset after
transforming the score to 0/1 and normal linear regression on the high
and low subsets.
I all cases I have a numer of cases of data 'duplications', i.e.

Statistics Relay
Hello again:
Though you suggested in subsequent reply email that the problem may sit with
the SAM2 Broadcaster application I done some additional testing and wanted
to run the results by you. I am able to reproduce the problem and see what I
would consider odd activities on the Icecast2 windows application.
Here goes:
1) Connect and start one stream from SAM2 --> Icecast2
2) Connect

How to visualize paired t-test results?
I would like to know if you have any suggestions how to visualize the
results from a paired t-test (see the example data below). I tried to
produce plots that show the mean and CI's from the original data and the
estimate of the difference between means and the confidence intervals (see
below) from the t-test. I really don't know what would be the best way to
graphically display the

Asterisk in a Centrex environment?
Does anyone know what would be involved in making
Asterisk work as a voicemail system in a Centrex
environment? We have a Centrigram voicemail system
that belongs in the Smithsonian. There are analog
lines coming into the box and a 56KB data feed from
the phone company's switch.

Problems connecting source
Hi oddsock,
I tested SAM2 in the past, but it's more a DJ software. I think
Winamp/Oddcast is better for encoding. Anyway, I don't know where I get
these problems from. I can connect to the server but when I start playing
something, it disconnects instantly. It happens very often now, but it seems
to happen only on one computer... It might be the Remote Desktop Protocol
audio drivers that

Icecast User Login Question
Hello,
I have stumbled upon your email address in my search for
finding an answer to a problem I'm looking into for school.
I attend the Univ. of Cincinnati and am working on my Senior
Design Capstone project. I am working with a local
independent radio station, WOXY, which is interested in
updating its streaming radio to Icecast. I have taken this
project under my wing and have tried

Bad artifacts at 32kbps
I have been trying some different sample rate and bitrate combinations
to get a feel for how CELT behaves.
I then encoded it with a couple of different frame sizes and sample
rates. There were some small differences, but nothing horrible.
So, I decided to run with 24KHz sample rate with 16 bit samples. This
seemed like a reasonable tradeoff against the quality degradation that

Opus for audiobooks etc
I know the focus for Opus is low delay, but I've been watching its
development with interest because of the potential for audiobook/podcast
use, where latency is practically irrelevant. I hear the upcoming USAC
codec will give good results for this niche (though listening test
results don't seem to be available to the public yet), but I also hear
it'll be extremely patent

Ask for suggestions about optimizing opus on STM32F407
Hello Thomas and Amit,
Thanks for your notice and the detailed decode performance report.
I describe the details of my encode/decode test on STM32F407ZG.
A. opus version: latest 1.2.1 (TI: opus 1.1.2)
B. KEIL 5.23 (TI: ARM compiler tool chain 5.2.7)
C. setup the encoder as the below (fs is the sampling frequency)
enc = opus_encoder_create(fs, chans, OPUS_APPLICATION_AUDIO, &opus_err);

mount and multiple stream troubles
I've tried using SAM2 and the admin password works but when I try the password
of the wrse mount point I get the error "Invalid password" "authentication
required".
When using the admin login to connect I use the mountpoint /wrse.ogg I tried
using /wrse/wrse.ogg for the wrse mount point but it give that password error.
Thanks again,
