Always starts playing at the beginning of a stream
Is there a way to force a client to always start playing at the beginning of a stream? Currently, the client starts from wherever ices is playing at, unfortunately, this is not ideal for my situation. Thanks in advance. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to

Stream File Type?
I'm a newbie. I've just installed Icecast2 and am streaming to it successfully via Nicecast (great app BTW). My problem is that the stream from Icecast2 comes through as an .m3u which does not correctly open on any of the Mac or Windows machines that I've tried. When broadcasting directly from Nicecast the file type is a .pls which both iTunes and WMP seem to deal with just fine

mp3-streaming client for icecast2
Hi! I'm looking for a streaming client for the icecast2-server. It should just feed mp3-files from a playlist to the icecast2-server. The old shout doesn't work: hout -P a -e 8000 -x -p /big/m3u/list.m3u => [3:21] Size: 3231748 Bitrate: 128000 (41432 bytes/dot) [Server error: [HTTP/1.0 401 Authentication Required ] WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="Icecast2 Server"

live streaming on the web using a link
I have upgraded my streaming servers, I have a Solaris 9 server with darkice-0.15 and Solaris 9 server with icecast-2.2.0. Now the index.html code will not work with the new versions of darkice and icecast2. I did found an email that said I needed to use http://url of site. tld/icecast mount point.m3u. So in darkice I found "mount point of this stream on the IceCast2 server" which

Linking streaming mp3 on the web
I have a redhat 9 box with darkice installed and a freeBSD 5.3 box running icecast. Both boxes are up and running and the mp3 stream is working great. The only problem i'm having is figuring out a way to link the mp3 stream on my webpage that will allow users to easily click on a link and have their media player open. I can open my media player, go to the open URL dialog and enter my URL,

xmms-flac security update breaks XMMS' flac-playing ability
Hello, First post to this group. I've been searching for about a week now to find anyone who can solve this problem or point me to the solution. I've been a happy xmms-flac user for 4 years until this week when some new FLAC security updates came along and completely stopped XMMS from playing FLACs on my PC. This is most irritating as I have over 3,500 CDs ripped and FLAC'd in

Yes. Though I don't know if using an arbitrary one works from the admin directory. Certainly you can put them in icecast's webroot directory (or some

static file streaming
Hi, I have installed the Icecast2 on my Ubuntu Linux and I was not able to figure out how I could stream static mp3 files. Can anybody help me? What should I do to do this? I put the mp3 file in the webroot and I tried to retrieve it with the " http://host:port/try.mp3" URL but I could only download it (as a whole) but not as a streamed media. Do I have to convert the mp3 to another

king fm m3u streams
Hi, Thanks, that helps. What I really want however, is an MP3 stream that can play on a WI-FI mp3 player. I know the m3u streams, but they wont play. I can find the stream for the regular KING HD-1, but not for opera or evergreen. Streaming SSL / HTTPS with m3u file
Hi, I installed icecast2 on Debian 10 via backports for buster so that I could get ssl support. I’ve successfully configured iceacst to stream via ssl within the browser. No problems there. For instance I can successfully open a https link to the stream with a URL like https://domain-name.net:8433/mountname <https://domain-name.net:8433/mountname> However, the same URL with .m3u at the

status.xsl url bug
> Thanks for the bugfix, I've committed this without the target="_blank" bit Thanks. After testing the usage of .pls instead of .m3u, couldnt get it to work any ideas on a workaround?, m3u likes xmms but on winxp windows media likes m3u and battles winamp for ownership (typical windows). Is this (.m3u) an internal mime type for icecast2? <p><p><p>Dave St John

status.xsl contains old entries
Hello all, When I look at status.xsl for my Icecast2 server, I see not only currently connected mounts, but also _previously_ connected mounts which read as "Stream Information (stream not currently available)". Is this the desired behavior? It seems as streams connect and disconnect, this page fills up quickly to the point where it is unusable. If it's a misconfiguration,

Static files with Icecast2
Hello, With Icecast1 existed the functionality to have the server feed static content from disk. It generated a playlist file for the one file passed to it, and off things went. I googled around a bit and found people saying it was possible to do this with icecast2, but the one outside link I found was now invalid. Are there any pointers about how to add static content? Does it work
