darkice client for windows
oddcast DSP is what you want, it supports live input (called Advanced Recording) and does support streaming to Peercast...It currently does not support Vorbis metadata for live recording (since metadata for vorbis streaming is inserted into the ogg stream, as opposed to how it's done for mp3 in which the metadata is updated on the server via URL calls)...
anyway, it's the closest thing to

Dummy soundcard driver for Windows (OT)
We want crossfading so we need to use the SQRSoft crossfading Winamp

Null Output Plugin
Null Output Plugin allows to run WinAMP without need of any soundcard

[Re: icecast2 ??]
Dear list,
I agree with the main points that have been stated here lately -- icecast2
appears not ready for prime time (because of lack of web presence / tarball and
rpm downloads / some documentation on line) and icecast1 community needs a
support forum if this list no longer is one.
It would be so simple to spell out the statuses on www.icecast.org -- Status of

Hi cloper,
did you tried with
muse -o
?
that deactivates usage of the soundcard.
anyway, if /dev/dsp is not present, muse runs anyway.

Programs like ices

Does anyone know if there is a program for linux like ices that can dump live audio from an input to an mp3 file? Or, is there any software for windows that can capture the mic input and line in input and encode them seperately but both live? Thanks,

Icecast2 Station with multiple scheduled DJs?
I have been playing with Icecast only for a couple of days, and I am trying to figure out how to do something.
I want a listener to have to only deal with one stream, but I want to be able to switch the source of that stream between multiple sources (DJs). The core idea is that the listener only deals with /live.mp3 while in the background I can problematically switch between a series of live

Remote Telecasts?
All --
Does anyone have experience doing remote live broadcasts over Icecast? My
thought is to use a Dell laptop running Windows (yeah, I know ;-), digitize
locally to 16khz, and pump the output to a remote Linux box.
Has anyone done something like this before? Thoughts? Issues?
Thanks,
Roy

Re: The LPBN radio station.
what do want the tool to do?
you could look at a tool in development called the Frequency Clock ->
http://frequencyclock.montevideo.nl
its a dev server but you can get the idea, an example of the player output
by the system is linked from http://www.radioqualia.net

Winamp/Oddcast Silent output
Hi everybody,
I have an easy question here. Is there any silent output option for
Winamp/Oddcast? I have a computer that I use as an encoder but it has no
soundcard installed so I am using SAM2 because there is a "Silent output"
option in the audio mixer pipeline. It means the sound encoded never passes
through the soundcard because everything is managed by the software.
I prefer free

alias mount points
Hi,
I am trying to get my head around a problem I have. First let me tell
you my goal.
I want to setup a site where I can allocate 2 hour time slots to anyone
that wants to play there tunes. My idea was to setup a number of mount
point, each with a username and password and dish these out, along with
a allocated time slot to the DJ's that have booked. This can all be done
with a wee bit of

radio station infrastructure.
Hello,
I'm setting up icecast/ices to be used as part of a radio station. For
our purposes, we're going to want to be able to do things like schedule
blocks of media to be played at regular times (shows), as well as to
schedule things like one-time broadcasts.
It looks like this can be done by building a scheduler app, and writing a
script that provides the appropriate items to ices at

No sound (ices-2.0.0, RH9)
Hello,
I've successfully installed Icecast 2.0.0 and Ices 2.0.0 on a Compaq
EvoN600C running Redhat 9. Everything runs quite well (no error loggued by
Icecast or Ices), the Ices stream is seen as a source by Icecast and friends
are able to listen to my radio (I see them as listeners in Icecast admin)...
the problem is that they ear only silence ! Looks like the streaming is OK
but Ices could
