YP directory server
Hi, I have set up my own YP directory but there are some files left and I don't know their purpose because everything works fine without them. Those are: yp_cachegen, yp_clean, yp_random. I didn't find any connection with yp_cgi. In connectToDB() there is also yp.db file opened and an environmental variable is read from it. What is it for? If someone could explain that, I'd be very

Intersection of two sets of intervals
Hi, Algorithm question: I have two sets of "intervals", where an interval is an ordered pair [a,b] of two numbers. Is there an efficient way in R to generate the intersection of two lists of same? For concreteness: I'm representing a set of intervals with a data.frame: > list1 = as.data.frame(list(open=c(1,5), close=c(2,10))) > list1 open close 1 1 2 2 5

OPENSSH REMOTE ROOT COMPROMISE ALL VERSIONS (fwd)
There has not been any mention of this, so.. I'm having hard time trying to figure out whether this is for real or just a joke. (Anyway, I don't use those possibly vulnerable features myself.) Any analysis yet? -- Pekka Savola "You each name yourselves king, yet the Netcore Oy kingdom bleeds." Systems. Networks. Security. -- George R.R.

Dovecot can't find users' sieve files
Hello. I asked for help on #dovecot but one suggestion I got was setting sieve variable explicitly but unfortunatelly that didn't help. I'm trying to set up sieve to be able to use vacation module. So in the lda section I put: mail_plugins = sieve And in plugins section: sieve = ~/.dovecot.sieve Then I put .dovecot.sieve file in the user's directory. This is what I get in

The output from console is as follows: fixme:dplay:IDirectPlayLobby3AImpl_RegisterApplication :stub fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_GetAvailableTextureMem

Using liveice-xmms with icecast
hi, in an attempt to set up a little stream, i downloaded and installed both icecast2 and liveice-xmms. i can start icecast2, and i can modify the settings to the xmms plugin from within xmms, but i'm at a loss as to how to create a stream, connect it to the server, or then listen to it. i've been looking at the docs on the icecast page[1]. can anyone point me in the right direction?

[PATCH] Support WinImage compressed floppies
The following patch allows memdisk to support compressed floppy images created by WinImage. WinImage creates a PKZIP-style archive with a single member, the .img (or .ima) file containing the floppy image. WinImage names such archives with a .imz extension. This patch lifts the header/trailer checking code from gunzip() to a new function, check_zip(), which both checks for a valid ZIP image and

Asterisk unable to receive iax or sip calls
Hi, We had a problem this evening where asterisk was running but unable to receive any iax or sip traffic. We restarted * and then it was fine. In hindsight we should have assessed whether this was a deadlock situation. Has anyone else seen this problem? We're using the -head cvs of April 20th.
