Disconnect listerens after X min
Hi Jappe,
a) Please put the script on a webpage, send the link to this
mailinglist and maybe somebody will put a link to such a useful
feature-addon.
Question to Oddsock and other devs:
b) Is there already a plugin-mechanism in icecast that could be used
to write a small snap-in directly? We talked about such an interface
a *long* time ago, but it seems it was forgotten somehow. (Plans were

Disconnect listerens after X min
Hello,
I'm using icecast2. I have one client who provides a source from his
windows computer using winamp. This source is a 'radio station'
I want to disconnect listerners after they have listen to the station
for e.g. 60 minutes but can't find any documentation on this. Is this
possible with icecast2?
If i missed some documentation: sorry but I just can't find the answer

Q: Client connection time limits.
I have a working patch to the icecast 2.0.0 source which implements
time limits in the form of a <client-time-limit> element in the server
conf file.
The time limit is set in seconds, with 0 seconds meaning there is no
time limit, and is also the default, obviously.
This is a global config directive, ie it effects all clients connected
to all mount points. Should I also add a

login failed
Hi guys,
I have been running icecast and ices for streaming mp3 around my house for
about 3 months now with no problems. now all of a sudden, I get login failed
when I try to run ices.
nothing has changed that I know of (I am the only person with access).
I seem to remember this happened when I originally installed the system,
but it was all so traumatic, I kinda forgot whjat I did :)
any help

Update ezstream playlist 'on the fly'
Jappe:
I've just added this functionality to ezstream. You can now send ezstream
a SIGHUP and it will re-read the currently processing playlist file (it
will currently do nothing if you are reading from stdin). In this case
ezstream will keep track of the last track played and will reposition to
that track (if it exists in the new playlist, otherwise it will just
restart at the

ezstream keeps getting glibc error on song
Hello everyone,
I just setup an mp3 streaming server on an old laptop I had laying
around using icecast and ezstream. The problem I am having is that when
ezstream gets to a certain song in a playlist I get the error "*** glibc
detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x080576e0 ***". I'm not
sure if it is doing this because of the song number it is or if it is a

Ezstream
Greetings,
I'm currently working on a program which utilizes Ezstream and
Icecast2 (http://r404.sf.net).
This project operates off a binary file generating the next file to be
played, eztream had the funcalitiy required (mp3 -> ogg support on the
fly) and seemed simple enough so I'm writing the modifications to
ezstream to support getting the path off of a binary.
My question, who

playlist streaming
is it true it's not possible to start or stop indvidual streams using icecast2+icegenerator(liveice,ezstream) combination?
i've tried mp3 directory streaming as well as playlist streaming - it works, but with no possibility to see full mp3 file listing and play control (like choosing a song, starting, stopping play). Icecast can't even diferentiate /dev/dsp input from playlist input.

ezstream grabing line-in input?... (newbie)
Hello all friends!
I have downloaded the latest ezstream (0.2.0) for Windows version, but I
have faced some issues...
First of all, on the installation process, it neither makes the desktop
icon as it says it would do, nor creates a program group folder on the
startup menu. Anyway, I try to finf on my Program Files folder and run
in DOS mode the ezstream.exe
I want to ask if I can grab the

Ezstream Program Call Patch
Alrighty,
Got it patched and working (at least in my one setup). You can pull
the patch from:
http://denetron.com/~dballenger/ezstream-program.patch
(I can post the pre-patched source too if people would like)
You'll have to add a "<filetype></filetype>" line into your config
files, just put "file" if you want it to work just by reading that
file or playlist.

using ezstream with stdin
I'm having a hard time not getting mp3 data to ezstream via stdin fast
enough. The vb.net application I'm writing, ezstream and icecast are all
running on the same machine (Widows XP). Some where in the process, a
buffer empties out and that results in a drop out when you are
listening. Usually the dropout happens at a song change.
At first I was chunking up the data according to bit

A few more ezstream questions
I know you guys are tired of me asking questions. I promise it will
slow down soon. But I have a few more questions about ezstream.
1. How can I redirect the ezstream output to a file? Every time I give
ezstream a pipe or redirection of the command line, it doesn't output
anything at all? I've had ezstream 0.1.2 shut down on me after several
hours and I was hoping to retrieve an

Icecast and ezstream
Hi,
What is the actual functionality of ezstream when I use it with
Icecast?What does it exactly do?
Why isn't Icecast written to read a file directly and stream it?

EZSTREAM: Playlist Automation Script for Windows
Hey All,
Happy New Year! I have a question regarding EZStream for Windows. I saw in
one of the examples, I could use a script, such as a playlist.pl. Is it
possible to use a custom .exe file, or a vbs/wsh script instead?
Thanks,
Doc

ezstream Playlist Randomization
I have implemented playlist randomization into ezstream v0.1.2 for
Linux. I am currently using a PII 266mhz for a server, so I wanted
something that wouldn't have to reencode the audio as it is streamed and
be able to play a playlist randomly. It uses STL Vectors to store each
playlist and then randomly deletes the song from the list after it is
played (this is to make sure the same
