Problem connecting to icecast2
In your Ices0. config file you need to change the protocol to work with
Icecast 2 (at the moment you have it set up for Icecast 1.3 server).
HTTP is the required protocol for connecting to Icecast 2.

Problem connecting to icecast2
The mountpoint is created by the Icecast server after initiated by Ices and
only exists while it's source does.
<p>Check the error.log in the Icecast 2 directorys to see why the Ices is
having trouble making a connection.

Problem connecting to icecast2
I'm no expert on Ices0.3 but that config doesn't look right to me.
I'm guessing that it's imperative to have the server config as part of the
stream section since you can have multiple streams from one source going to
multiple destinations (I think anyways.. :)
Take a look at my config for ices0.3 below :

Question about PLC in OPUS
I have a question about PLC used by OPUS.
We are using OPUS for streaming music in some application.
Due to some network problems, we are running into problems related to clock drifts. This causes jitter buffer underflows at the receiver and hence we need to rebuffer the jitter buffer periodically. We are looking at the root cause of this problem (drift), but that's besides the point.

Problem connecting to icecast2
Well I think that I see where the problem is.. That is exactly right.
[root@wyatt icecast]# ices -c /home/icecast/ices.conf
Unknown Node: Server
Unknown Execution keyword: Base_Directory
<p>I dont think that ices is actually using the settings in the Server section of
the config file. That would explain why the passwords are different.
<p>So I guess that I will try to set it up

How to test if two C statistics are significantly different?
Hey all,
In order to test if a marker is a risk factor, I built two models (using cox
proportional hazard model). One model included this marker, and the other is
not.
Then, I use R package risksetROC to test how much predictive value did the
marker add to this model. I get two C statistics by analyzing the linear
predictors of the two models into this package.
The qustion is How to test if two

Can find linuxbox using "find" but not in neighborhood.
In windoz I can using "find computer" to find linuxbox,and windoz do indicate
that it is in the specified workgroup.Also I can access it.but I can't find it
in network neighborhood in the specified workgroup. Why?
The following is my [global] section:

Odd preexec/root preexec behavior
Running Samba 2.2.2, having troubles with preexec when it involves the
path parameter:
Log on to the samba server as kris, user "users".
%U expands to kris, %G expands to users.
[profile]
path = /data/profile/%U
preexec = /bin/mkdir -m 700 /data/profile/%U
writable = yes
create mode = 0600
directory mode = 0700
This fails to work, Samba reports that it could not

(Yet another) ogg123 buffer patch
Here's yet another ogg123 patch that:
1) Adds a command-line parameter "--prebuffer n" or "-p n" that decodes "n"
chunks into the buffer before even forking off the writer thread.
2) Moves the buffer_shutdown call in ogg123.c to its proper place.
3) Doesn't use signals ;)
This way, the default behavior is to start playing immediately, while allowing

R function calling. Do I understand this right?
I need to write a nonhierarchical clustering routine and I'm studying
the way hclust (in the mva library) is built in R to see how things are
done and what I can modify. I ran f2c on the hclust.f file (so I could
read it in a language I know!) and there is one thing I don't quite
understand about the way it gets called and the way it returns values.
That Fortran function gets called in

Can't listen to a stream from icecast-kh
Yes, but I'm also unable to read that stream from VLC on OS X and Windows
Whamb works on OS X, QCD works on windows.
If it is confirmed that VLC is not working with that header, then we may
ask VLC team to handle that header ?
I downloaded the latest Realplayer, but I'm unable to play my stream...
is it really possible?
or perhaps it is only for mp3? in that case why not to send that

exim/kmail vs. dovecot
I am using exim via dovecot_deliver to store messages in Maildir in my $HOME.
I am using kmail to retrieve stuff. Unfortunately, something in my data
crashes dovecot.
I was using 1.0.rc14 from opensuse, but downloaded and installed 1.0.8 from
the site.
Here is the crash:

Can't listen to a stream from icecast-kh
Hello
When I replace ICY 200 by HTTP 200 then :
- wget works
- videolan VLC works (i thing its bad to send headers that it doesn't
understand as it is one of the few crossplateform ogg players)
So, I suggest, either to put something in the code to handle a different
response header per stream type, or to put something in the config file
(but then icecast admin have to bother with that)
Or,

How to create Debian packages for release 3.9.0
L.S.,
I'm currently in the process of creating Debian packages for
clang/llvm release 3.9.0. For this I'm using the steps as explained on
'http://apt.llvm.org/building-pkgs.php'. Up until now I have done:
$ debcheckout svn://anonscm.debian.org/svn/pkg-llvm/llvm-toolchain/
$ cd llvm-toolchain/branches
$ sh 3.9/debian/orig-tar.sh RELEASE_390 final
Now, as is explained, I would
