Stats Bug?
I use simplecast as the source into my icecast2 server. It has a built in stats program but the problem is that If my icecast server has over 2 mount points the stats stop working and the only way to fix it is to restart the icecast server. Is there anyway to fix this bug myself? Inactive (Error parsing xml document: Invalid at the top level of the document.||||Line: 1||empty result) That

configuration & error help
Hi everybody, just a new face showing up looking for a little help configuring IceCast. Just installed the software with a few other programs in an attempt to start off my own internet radio station. Using SimpleCast to take the line-in and stream it to IceCast, which in-turn does the obvious and streams it to the internet. I'm looking at just creating a station of just 5 max users (for

Local & Relay
Hi all, I'm new to the list, and I wonder if someone could offer some advice please or point me to a previous thread about this in the archives? I work for a Radio station on the Costa Del Sol in Spain, and currently we're using DarkIce to take an audio feed (over USB) from our desk into DarkIce and then sending up to a hosted IceCast2 server. This works perfectly, and I have a cronjob

I only happens sometimes like right now I can't reproduce it. I'm guessing simplecast

Logging songs played by Icecast server
Hello all, I skimmed the last year's worth of messages and all the docs and could find no reference to this. I'm hoping someone here can assist. I am a host for an Internet radio station, and we gave about 20 DJs. Each host determines their own playlist and uses a variety of tools to broadcast to the Icecast server (e.g. SAM2, SimpleCast, etc.). Since we do not have a set playlist for

Radio Station
List, Time and time again I am sure you get this question. I am trying to setup a radiostation, and here is what I am looking for: 1. Ability for people to "call in" with say, winamp+oddcast or simplecast. 2. Ability to change password for the caller at any time. I know by default that Icecast2 does not allow the sharing of mounts, so what about setting up the following: 1. /radio

I love Icecast, as soon as I seen there was a windows version I dropped shoutcast. I'm part of a large group of people who broadcast police scanners from all over North America and it's mostly done using the winamp/shoutcast combo. I've told everyone I know (some big yahoo groups) about icecast and they all love it because there is no huge delay like there is with shoutcast. I use

time out issues with icecast2
Hi. I am having a strange problem where the source times out during anicecast2 stream -- I was using mp3pro at 32khz and even some other speeds. I have set the source timeout for 1 minute, but it still times out or says connection reset by peer. Now the strange thing is that I also had a windows media stream on the same source machine going to a wm server and it had no problems! So can someone

Strange occurrence
I had something happen the other night that I just can't explain. It may not be an Icecast issue at all, but I thought it was interesting enough to post. I have a private stream with 6 mountpoints, all receiving the same 32 kbps mp3 stream from Simplecast. Both Simplecast & Icecast are running on the same Win2k system. The configuration allows me to track the comings and goings of

reload icecast without losing source
Hi, i've just added a new mount point to my icecast config file. I want to activate this mount point and i need to reload the icecast proccess to do so (?) but i don't want to loose the active source streams. How can i do this? Does icecast reload it's config file once in a while? Does it auto reconnect active streams? regards, jappe --- >8 ---- List archives:

Time for log entries
I'm running Icecast 2.3.1 on a Windows 2000 platform with Simplecast feeding a live stream with multiple mount points. At scheduled points in the day, I have a scheduler that launches EZstream that overrides one of the mountpoints for a local 1 hour insert. Since we went back to standard time last weekend, the log entries in error.log have shown that the EZstream overrides have occurred

Configuring icecast for lowest buffering/latency
Hi, I'm using Icecast on a windows pc as a "gobetween" to output from a streaming encoder, bounce it of an icecast server locally on the workstation and then being picked up from the local icecast server and relayed on again. (I'm using liveCaster from www.live.com as it allows me to send the audio stream as UDP which is more efficient than HTTP streaming - unfortunately it does

Encoding on a "dumb" pc
I'm in the process of trying to build a project, and I'm hoping that someone on the list can help me out. I have an Icecast server already running, and some feeds coming in from Simplecast, Edcast, and DarkIce. These encoders are obviously on computers owned by users who can setup feeds are send them to my Icecast server remotely. What I am looking for, is a small PC that is capable

icecast stats
I have a patch on icecast-2.2.0 svn version which was written specifically to support SimpleCast users to retrieve the stats for their mountpoint and only that mountpoint. This is based on per mount-point username password. Using HTTP authentication the client can retrieve only http://hostname/admin/stats.xml given the correct username/password. This will only return the stats for that

Does icecast call home
Does icecast call home, the reason I ask is if you look at the following image. http://redhat.seneca-rez.net/router.jpg You will see the blue line which is the upload rate from my router. when I run icecast it does this every 3-5 seconds. I thought maybe it was icecast updating the YP but I totally removed that section from my config file and even restarted the computer. I thought it may be
