Hello! Whenever I get that error, its due to either the directory/file not existing, or having the wrong file permissions. Remember, it needs the file permissions of the user you created to be "icecast". I can start it fine from the command line using icecast -c icecast.xml we have ver 2.4. When I try and start it using /etc/init.d/icecast2 start it says [ ok ] Starting icecast2 (via systemctl): icecast2.service. but it actually doesn't start. nothing in the error logs, nothing in syslog.
