Stream drops during handoff. Suggestions?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've searched high and low for
the last couple days for an answer.
An Internet radio station I DJ for is using Shoutcast and MP3, but we
are considering moving to an Icecast/Ogg Vorbis combination instead. We
work in 3-hour shifts. When we hand off, the DJ on-stream stops teh
encoder, shouts "go" on IRC, and the DJ in line starts his

Newbie needs help
To all:
I am running FreeBSD v7.03 and using icecast2 which is happily relaying
a shoutcast MP3 stream. I want to play (mix)a pre-recorded "Stream ID"
file to the existing stream once per hour.
I've tried ices0 but no luck. Any help will be much appreciated.

Pathing syntax for icecast.xml in Windows
Hi,
Icecast.xml shows a sample path to a mountpoint fallback file as
<fallback-mount>/example2.ogg</fallback-mount>
Under Windows, will this next work?
<fallback-mount>"C:\Users\username\Desktop\foldername\subfoldername\fallback.mp3"</fallback-mount>
Also, the usage of a fallback mount is only shown in the sample
icecast.xml under a commented-out section,

Problem with fallback on 2.31 on Windows XP
If this isn't supported, then I apologize for the disruption, I'll
just tell my customer / client / friend it's time to seriously rethink
what they're trying to do. If support is possible, here's the problem:
I took a running icecast.xml file from a configuration that works. It
has live, backup, and listener (called /broadband) mount points. A

Shoutcast compatibility suggestions
Hi:
Ok, I've not managed to find any documentation on the shoutcast
compatibility introduced in icecast 2.2.0, so please humour me if I
missunderstand how it's meant to work.
This is my understanding of it currently:
1. You configure Icecast (as shown in the shoutcast example) so that
shoutcast connections get mapped to the mountpoint you define.
2. You configure a listen socket

Icecast SSL endpoint timeout issue
Hi team,
Please accent my apologies if this is NOT the place/distro list to be
raising this. I had major dramas with the standard forum - registration and
decided this may be a better route.
My current instance icecast server has been built with --with-curl
--with-openssl options as outlined within this post:

can't use icecast2 in ubuntu 12.04
Hello,
first of all thank you for your patience and having answered you.
I tried to change port from 8000 to 8001 but nothing happened. I am using a vps server so I don?t need to open port from router.
I paste here all my icecast.xml configuration file.
can you please give a llok and tell me if all seems ok to you?
still thank you!

cannot get icecast and ices to talk...authentication failed
I have a weird one...
I installed icecast 2 and ices .23 on Mandake, and am not having any luck
I compiled and installed the nightly icecast just today.
It seems to work fine, however when I telnet to it (10.0.0.3, port 8000),
I am unable to login unless the first line contains ONLY the password.
I used ethereal to see that iceS is trying to send to authenticate, and it
is sending (as the first

Question about HTTP headers and Icecast stream status
Hi all,
I'm working on a script to check the status of streams from multiple
streaming sources (ie. icecast, shoutcast, wms, etc.). With Icecast I
am looking at the HTTP header returned by the server when I do a GET
on the mountpoint I want the status of. It appears that a HTTP/1.0 200
indicates that the mountpoint is up while a HTTP/1.0 404 indicates
that it is down.
Two questions:
1. Is

cannot get icecast and ices to talk...authenticationfailed
I just tried with no mountpoint information, and I get the same results,
icecast is still not accepting 'SOURCE hackme' as the first header, it
only wants the password (verified by telneting in).
So, how to I recompile libshout2 into the ices2beta? It doesn't want to
take the command-line param, or the in.so.conf file setting (or the LIBDIR
evn variable)...
Or, can someone give me a
