Dear Mr./Mrs.
I use Linux Fedora 8 and I tried to
install your software for p2p broadcasting. There were some problems.
1. I install successfully
icecast-2.3.1-0.src.rpm (rpm -ivh icecast-2.3.1-0.src.rpm)
2.When I tried to install libxml2 from
http://xmlsoft.org/downloads.html I receive this output:

bit/bytes <= broadcasting : the state of art ?
Hi,
Our webradio (Let's Go Zik - http://www.letsgozik.com) works with
donation and partenship. I think it's the only way to keep a webradio
alive for the moment... We are making our radio in a associative way...
It's quite hard to "find" listeners. Currently we are nearly
broadcasting for 60 simultaneous listeners (and approx. 5000 differents
listeners per months)...

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Ciao Assorgia,
Anch'io sono felice che cè un'altra persona che cerca di importare uno
stream di Icecast nel Flash!
Just one easy question (I'm speaking English for the list), is there a real
quality of sound difference between Icecast1 and 2? Is Icecast2 really more
reliable? Can you provide a link to your webradio, I'd be glad to listen to
it.
Grazie,
MAX

Streaming issue with IOS and Safari
Hello everyone,
Thank you for Icecast, it's a very good product.
I have an issue with people using IOS and Safari. They can't listen my
webradio. I'm using icecast and liquidsoap, it's working perfectly for
everyone except for IOS users with Safari.
Could you help me please ?
BR,
*Ceelo*

IceCast KH - question
Hi there,
we use IceCast KH on our webradio, no commercial. We have an issue that
we dont know where to look. When listening using WinAmp (but in other
players too like JW Player), after 70 or 90 minutes, we realize that the
"green square" on top of WinAmp becomes a "red square". About 60 minutes
after start, sometimes the "red square" blinks, and then more

We use Icecast as main Relay Server with different audio formats, and we
are also testing video streaming using theora/vorbis format.
In this period I'm working in Icecast source code to implement a

yam help
I am trying to use yam to create a repo based on the 4.4 CDs. I have
copied the contents of the CDs to /var/dist/CentOS-4.4-i386. No
matter what I try, yam always creates an emtpy repo.
This is my current yam.conf file:

srcdir = /var/yam
wwwdir = /var/www/yam
arch = i386

name = CentOS $release ($arch)

Streaming issue with IOS and Safari
We had only MP3 for a long time, and all iOS users could listen. I
don't think iOS likes OGG.
We also advertise the VLC app in case someone has an issue with the web
player.

Using up2date to download channels on rhn
Hi all,
i have a problem with centos's up2date tool. I have setup a central
update server with yam (http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/yam/) under

Commandline utility to edit ID3 tags?
Hi,
I'm running a webradio on our brandnew CentOS 5.1 database server. (The
main purpose of this radio is fun, sure, but it's also a bit like a
canary in a coalmine...) It's based on Icecast, MPD and NCMPC and works
great. I'm configuring the server remotely via SSH, no X.
Is there any commandline utility to edit ID3 tags?
Cheers,
Niki

Using rsync to sync two live servers
Hello,
I have two production servers which house large drive arrays storing
digitized music for our webradio. They are used in a 'failover'
configuration so that if one goes down the other remains available.
New music is added all of the time to this library and it is a pain to
have to add it to both machines as the files are large (.wav). I am
thinking to setup rsync to keep the drives

can I convert ogg to mp3 streaming on fly?
Hello,
I am configuring a webradio and I'm using icecast2 with deefuzzer.
the music streaming work, in mp3 format.
I want to make a second streaming with my iphone, and the app that I'm
using, Koalasan, can stream only in OGG, AAC or Opus.
I want that when I start speaking, music stops and my voice is online.
Deefuzzer is able to do this with "relay", but the original stream in

upgrading icecast to 2.4.1
Hello,
I'm a ubuntu 12.04 user.
I'm currently running icecast 2.3.2 installed from ubuntu apt-get, with
Liquidsoap 1.1.1 that instead is compiled by myself.
I'd like to upgrade to icecast 2.4.1, but since I have a webradio and
all work fine, I'd like to know if there is a procedure or a tutorial on
how to upgrade from 2.3.2 to 2.4.1.
Which steps should I follow?
Thank you!

appearing in Icecast directory when changing stream provider
Dear community,
My webradio is currently appearing in Icecast directory there

I didn't do it It surely was done directly by my streaming provider
radionomy. In radionomy I have access to nothing but the stream link

The thing is we are leaving radionomy for another stream provider. How to

Yam not generating repomd.xml
I think I have obeyed the docs. Metadata in yam conf says repomd
(formerly createrepo but led to "unexisting --update option" message).
Conf is otherwise pretty close to examples. I have downloaded Centos
4.4 ISOs, I have done yam -gv, ISO files are correctly mounted and
published via HTTP, etc but no xml files are generated anywhere under
/var/www/yam. What am I overlooking? Can I have

Hi Oddsock,
Like Clement, I am sure Nullsoft is still "offering" AOL's bandwidth since I
think Nullsoft is not part of AOL anymore. About the new broadcasting
methods, is the multicast technology already available? I have heard only
few providers are equipped with multicast enabled routers. What about p2p
streaming, is it really reliable? When I see Peercast's statistics, only

SAN certificates for multiple domains and multiple services
Hi,
I'm currently installing and configuring CentOS 7 on a public server.
The machine will host a few small-to-midsize projects that are currently
running on a handful of Slackware servers: public library databases, our
public school's agenda, a small webradio, OwnCloud for myself and a
local non-profit, etc.
Until recently I've mostly used self-signed SSL certificates for stuff
