Can anybody help me, I have Icecast2 and Ices2 on Mandrake and want to play a static playlist. I am getting the following problem: [2003-06-26 12:56:08] DBUG connection/_handle_get_request Client connected [2003-06-26 12:56:08] DBUG admin/admin_handle_request Got command (streamlist) [2003-06-26 12:56:08] INFO admin/admin_handle_request Bad or missing password on admin command request

Server drops client - problem with IceS?

I would think so, but I might have missed something. <p>Here is my IceS2-config - with this one, the problem manifests after 2 minutes of playing, and the client is disconnected after 3 minutes. I have tried tweaking bitrate, quality,

playlist module causing machine hangup
Hello, I had a big trouble with ices (ices-2kh60). It is reading a playlist file containing "-" to tell "read stdin". But I think that when stdin is having problem, then ices become mad. It tries hundreds of time per second to play the playlist file content, generating huge amount of traces, which are rotated, but causing a denial of service on the server which become

Directory listing disappeared
Hi: Last week, I upgraded an icecast2 server and enabled the directory code. The primary streams that run on it showed up nicely. As some may recall, I had issues with libshout compiling (seems the sources got hosed somehow, a fresh checkout fixed everything after all else failed), and I just compiled the latest ices2. I noticed, with some surprise, that the config file hadn't changed in

client not connecting to server
I'm trying to connect to my icecast2 server with winamp with http:host:8000/test.ogg and I get the following error on the server console: DEBUG: client coming in DEBUG: source not found for client I'm wondering if the playlist.txt file is in the wrong place. It's in /root/ and has absolute pathnames to the ogg files in my home directory /home/user/ogg/ What did

You always talk about two instances. Do you really mean two instances of ices2 called seperately? Do I have to make

Strange hanging...
Hi, I've been doing some experiments today with ices, icecast-2.0.1 server and using ogg123 to play the stream on a client device... Twice, the client appears to "lock" at around the same point - once at 189:45:56 and the second time at 187:45:40. The server log states: [2004-05-30 17:28:50] DBUG format/format_generic_write_buf_to_client Client had recoverable error -1

*Real* real time streaming (no delay/latency)?
Hello Does anyone have experience with _real_ real time streaming - i.e. with very little delay/latency? I need to stream from point A to point B in near-CD quality via a 100 Mbit network. That is easily done using icecast. But here is the tricky bit: I want as little delay in the signal as possibble - preferrably below 50ms! I have made a test setup encoding on and serving from an 800 MHz

automating icecast2 startups
I have icecast2 running on several machines now and have gotten relaying to work just fine. I've posted my instructions on how to do this to my icecast docs site. I have just a few more questions. Perhaps some one on this list has already addressed these issues but has simply not posted these elsewhere. 1) I'm looking for a startup script for launching the icecast2 icecast ices binaries

Icecast source number problem, ices frozen after reconnect attemps failure (icecastkh13 iceskh48)
Hello, I had a problem with ices kh48 and icecastkh13. I usually restart them by cron at 00:00. ----------1---------- This night, icecast told ices "Too many sources" for radio-bro-gwened.ogg... All right, I've just seen that my config file is wrong for icecast (I have 3 sources): <sources>2</sources> But, with this configuration, I can have 3 sources:

ices bitrate encoding mode?
I have got ices running with quality -1 (and on my roommates crappy computer speakers it sounds damn near the real thing - better than FM radio anyway)... I'm just wondering if it's posible to configure it with a maximum bitrate, or a nominal bitrate. i.e. to use managed bitrates instead of quality (I know it's a no no, but this is streaming!). ice2 CVS build problems under Solaris 7
Hi: If you want to use icecast 2 for streaming vorbis audio then don't get it from the CVS repository at icecast.org. That's ancient developer stuff in there. Instead get it from the xiph.org CVS repository (see http://www.xiph.org/cvs.html which I see now lists the icecast stuff (yay!). You'll need the icecast module plus the avl, httpp, log, net, thread and timing modules (check

client disconnects after one song is played
I'm using the latest CVS source under Linux using a playlist of ogg files. When I use a client to connect on the same machine, there is not any disconnect (xmms and zinf). When using a client on a Windows machine, I get mixed results. Zinf on windows will play thru the current song but then stops when the song is finished and does not play the next song being streamed (see log below).

ices stdinpcm
I have problems with the stdinpcm module in ices2. The player fills its buffer and doen't play anything and fill the buffer again and this repeats (with winamp). when I download the stream with wget I can play it from hard disk... is this a common problem with ices2 or do only I experience this behaviour? the oss module works. --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/

Problems streaming Ogg Vorbis with icecast2+ices
Hello, Perhaps it is a typical question but i've got stuck. I'm using icecast2+ices to stream some ogg vorbis files or voice_in_life (/dev/dsp) over the network/internet. All seems to work fine, for example using: ogg123 http://127.0.0.1:8000/mount works :). And: ogg123 http://my_internet_ip:8000/mount works too from another pc over internet and far away :). Using mplayer works fine

PATCH: increase network congestion resilience
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, find a patch which is an update to a patch sent months ago. Before it was in net/sock.c, now I moved it to format.c, so net CVS module is not affected. It polls the socket before trying to send() any byte to check if the TCP buffers are full due to network congestion. See below the warning messages of "normal" (at least in
