ices2 ans ALSA
Hello,
I'm using ices2 on ALSA 0.9.6 drivers.
After some troubles, it works.
This is my ices-alsa.xml config file:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<ices>
<background>0</background> <!-- run in background? (unimplemented) -->
<logpath>/tmp</logpath> <!-- where logs, etc go. -->

my last post assumed that you had .OGG files to begin with .. depending on
the size of your library, you may want to convert your mp3s to ogg . i
ended up doing this , and it made things much simpler on the web end .
also ; check out dir2ogg ..

libao and recent ALSA builds
I had a go at building libao-0.6.0 and it barfed on the alsa output part,
complaining that snd_pcm_channel_status_t is undeclared - probably due to me
running alsa 0.9.0 beta4. So the question is, should I try and beat the
configure stuff into letting me disable alsa support and just use OSS, or
would I be better off trying my luck with the nightly builds?
And if so, can I get away with just

Newbie problem with ices2
Hi all,
I'm fairly new to icecast / ices - been using icecast (2.2.0) to stream
audio files for a few weeks, it works very well, now I'm trying to add
live feeds via ices (v2.0.1). I've built and installed (on SuSE 9.3
platform) with no apparent errors, copied ices-alsa.xml to user area and
modified paths, server password etc.
When I run ices (using "ices

Ices2 / Icecast2 / Long connect and no sound
Unfortunately, ices2 isn't writing anything to the logs. I've got them on
debug mode, but there still isn't anything being written to indicate it's
having a known problem.
As far as the interference goes, I've found that reducing the iGain and amping
the input source seems to reduce the interfencence a good deal, at least, good
enough such that it's only a low murmur in

ices2 not re-connecting on live stream
hi everyone, congratulations on the release of icecast 2.1.0
I presume this is the right place to post about iceS. please correct if
wrong.
I have a two instance setup, and have been finding that after a network
error occurs, the instance does not reconnect.
The source server is behind a linux NAT box.
I have simulated the problem by using iptables REJECT with tcp-reset and

grabbing raw PCM from ices2
Hi,
I'm running Ices 2.0.1 in conjunction with Icecast 2.3.1 (on gentoo
linux) to generate a live ogg stream for radio station WTJU
(http://wtju.net/). In addition to encoding and streaming live audio,
we'd like to record our broadcasts to disk for archival. I know that
ices has a "savefile" feature, but that isn't so useful, because the
file being written simply grows

Help with ices2
Hello,
I am trying to connect a instance of ices2 to icecast2. It seems that the connection is done well but I do not know how to take the microphone input to send it to the server. Any help is highly appreciated.
