Ice Cast / win32 basic help
Hi,
I've downloaded and experimented a little with the latest Windows
Icecast, aka icecast2_win32_2.0_beta3_setup.exe and can't seem
to work out how to configure it with the xml file.
I wondered if anybody had a very basic guide for a complete
newbie. Perhaps a very simplified xml config, that would
make understanding how this works much, much easier.

Feature suggestion: Parallel ssh
Hi,
A feature i've been wondering about and I have no idea if it's possible
is a parallel secure shell. So a command typed on 1 system (master) can
be replicated through 100 sshd's. I realise a script could be used to
achieve a similiar situation, but it's not quite the same as a realtime
scenario. Is this fantasy wishlist or achievable as it'd certainly be
very useful?

Masking out passwords from ps
Hi,
Is there a good method to mask out the passwords so that they can be
hid from a ps?
Could the passwords be found by looking /proc from any masking
technique...
Can't see anything in the FAQ, nice new website btw :)

Sending ice-public: 1
According to the oddcast website ices by default sends ice-public: 0 when
informing directories of itself. What changes do I need to make to my
configuration file to change this behaviour?

Ice Cast Limited to 1019 connections
Hi All,
I've got a strange problem with Centos 5.9 64bit running Ice Cast, soon as the server hit 1019 connections it dies. Set the fs-file-max to 65535 and added in hard & soft no files to 655535 yet still not joy. (Ice Cast listeners are set to over 5K connections)
Has anyone come across this problem?
Kind Regards,
Mike

scheduling with ezstream and ice cast.
Hello all. I?m just wondering. Is there a way that i can schedule either playlists or files to be played on ice cast with ezstream? for instance, I would like a giggle to be played ever 10 minutes or so or perhaps some more complex things to be happened when scheduled. If anyone knows of sources or how I can put this all together, that would be great! Thanks all and have a good day.

Ice Cast Limited to 1019 connections
Hi,
Clearly sounds like a ulimit problem.
I'd continue looking into that direction.
If what you set is supposed to do that, then maybe it didn't take effect for some reason? Something might need a nudge?
Cheers
Thomas

question about documentation for the new beta 4 of ice cast
I have been reading the README for icecast beta 4 and I came acrossed a
line that isn''t very explicit can some one explain to me what needs to
happen here?
You WILL need to edit the config file you choose to use before running
this application. When documentation is revised tthis may be a good thing
to be a little more explicit on.

Sizing an Ice Cast Server
Is there some info somewhere about calculating the throughput of an
Icecast server?
(I'm not really talking about the bandwidth)
I need to figure out how much CPU and RAM I need.
I also need to know whether other software on the server (such as mySQL
) will have a problem with Icecast.

Ice Cast referral?
Greetings,
I am having a couple issues setting up Icecast on my server and I am in need
of assistance.
1) the front end page is not building ( files exposed )
2) I got it started but only 1 mount can connect at a time. I have EZstream
running perfectly but I can not have 2 people connected to different mounts
at the same time.
Can you give me some guidance or point me to the right direction? I

ice cast with ladiocast
Hi Timothy,
At our radio station we use Liquidsoap to broadcast in AAC Plus.
http://savonet.sourceforge.net/
You need a linux server, as I've seen Debian and Ubuntu works the best. Of
course, if you need any assitance, I'd be more than happy to help you, and
for free of course.
Best regards,

Ice cast Hacking
Hello,The station I run using ice cast keeps being targeted by a hacker. They manage to kill and start our stream at there own will. They have messaged us through a fake Facebook account telling us that they are hacking us and that in order for it to stop we need to give them our Wordpress admin, this was obviously never sent over.
Any suggestions on how to stop and defend these attacks would be
