Hi guys, this is my first post and i'm sorry for my bad english :-) The question is this: I have an "Icecast2 beta 3" server (under Red Hat 9) and a Winamp 5.0.8/Oddcast 3.0.7 source client. My users are all with Win Xp and Win Media Player 9 The problem is with metadata. I set them into Oddcast and the server respond with this log messages: --- [2005-08-04 12:03:23] DBUG

Icecast server YP Woes... take 2
I am having problem with icecast2/winamp oddcast dsp/darkice being listed on dir.xiph.org and dir.oddsock.org. Now I've scanned the mailing list and found that there was a previous issue, however if I use icecast on Windows XP it works fine, but not from Fedora Core 1. I've made sure to check my config files multiple times and looked at the error logs but I still can't figure

Problems connecting source
Hi oddsock, I tested SAM2 in the past, but it's more a DJ software. I think Winamp/Oddcast is better for encoding. Anyway, I don't know where I get these problems from. I can connect to the server but when I start playing something, it disconnects instantly. It happens very often now, but it seems to happen only on one computer... It might be the Remote Desktop Protocol audio drivers that

Problems connecting source
I wouldn't be too quick to boast that nearly all of Peercast-network users utilize Oddcast... the last release of Peercast was about 6 months ago, and the software is still quite buggy & non-optimized. =P However, I do agree that Oddcast is a good, reliable stream source. >From: oddsock <oddsock@oddsock.org> >Reply-To: icecast@xiph.org >To: icecast@xiph.org >Subject:

Problems connecting source
Hi Max, > I can connect to the server but when I start sending bytes (when > I start playing music), the source disconnects suddenly... That sounds pretty like something in the config of oddcast got wrong. It seems to be the behaviour that Oddcast won't notify you it got disconnected before you send anything to the server. > It was working fine yesterday night and I didn't

Problems connecting source
Hi Karl, In my case, it was not really a idle connection because I connected the source and hit "play" right after but it disconnected the source at this exact moment... Anyway, it's now working... Just one question, what is the most reliable source encoder for Windows? I would like a program able to run at windows startup, that would encode a soundcard input (from turntables from

YP submission / cURL issue. (icecast 2.0.1 / gentoo)
DNS for vhosts makes total sense, duh! :) Running without chroot, as root, changing to nobody, and YP works just fine.. If I come up with a nice howto / rundown of the chroot stuff, I'll get it on the list. Odd: Did you see the posts about the Icecast+win32 crashing w/ OddCast 2.0.10 and 2.0.13? Seems stable on 2.0.1-release and SVN on Linux but.. I'm going to do my research and get

win: crash with exception c0000005 on source exit
Hi, we have a reproducable crash with icecast 2.3.1 on a windows machine (Win 2003 server): On exit of the last source (an ezstream acting as a fallback source) the server crashes with non-handled exception c0000005. The famous last words in the log: [2006-11-14 21:16:00] WARN client/client.c source connection has died [2006-11-14 21:16:00] INFO source/source.c End of Stream /fallback

Icecast 2.3.1 + Ezstream 0.4: Source keeps disconnecting
Hi, I'm running Icecast 2.3.1/Ezstream 0.4. Ezstream is set up to decode mp3s and encode to ogg in a loop (ie <stream_once> is set to "0"). While running the setup my source is constantly dropped within a 12 hour period - my logs show that an "End of Stream" has occurred. If I run the same setup using longer mp3s (ie mp3s which are about an hour in length), I

trouble connecting to icecast2/ices
I just built icecast and ices from CVS source. The compile went fine. But I'm having trouble connecting to the server and hearing anything. In one shell, I start icecast with: src/icecast -c conf/icecast.xml That appears to start things off fine. Then in another shell, I start ices: src/ices conf/ices-playlist.xml At this point, icecast prints some text: connection added.... DEBUG: source

Source can't connect to Icecast with SSL enabled
Hello, I have liquidsoap streaming to icecast with url authentication and everything works as it should. However, I enabled SSL in icecast to enhance security and now the source doesn't connect. In the error.log I see [2015-01-14 11:49:11] DBUG slave/_slave_thread checking master stream list [2015-01-14 11:49:13] DBUG client/client_read_bytes reading from connection has failed

Icecast source number problem, ices frozen after reconnect attemps failure (icecastkh13 iceskh48)
Hello, I had a problem with ices kh48 and icecastkh13. I usually restart them by cron at 00:00. ----------1---------- This night, icecast told ices "Too many sources" for radio-bro-gwened.ogg... All right, I've just seen that my config file is wrong for icecast (I have 3 sources): <sources>2</sources> But, with this configuration, I can have 3 sources:

ices2 not re-connecting on live stream
hi everyone, congratulations on the release of icecast 2.1.0 I presume this is the right place to post about iceS. please correct if wrong. I have a two instance setup, and have been finding that after a network error occurs, the instance does not reconnect. The source server is behind a linux NAT box. I have simulated the problem by using iptables REJECT with tcp-reset and here is the
