Actiontec's Internet Phone Wizard and Digium's S100U
Hi, There is someone on this list who has the specification for the IPW driver? I want to provide full support for it in DIAX Phone, but Actiontec does not answer to my mails. There is any windows driver available for the Digium's S100U USB interface? Anyone knows if it can provide full functionality for the connected phone, like callerid, callwaiting callerid, message indication, ring,

SSH2/1 Failure when using bash shell, other shells work
Got a strange problem here. We have OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 running on a variety of machines and on one particular Redhat 6.2 machine(all patches applied) we run into a situation where it will not allow us to start a shell when using bash or bash2. csh and others work fine. One note...if I enable PermitRootLogin, the user root IS allowed to login with bash. This is very strange. I'm guessing it

bridge and dynamically adding hosts to zones
Hi, I''ve set up a bridge which connects two parts of the same subnet with each other. I''ve set up everything as described in the Documentation and it works very nicely. However: I have a problem with adding hosts to zones dynamically. The zone I want to add hosts to is called ''work''. Since only the bridge br0 is defined in /etc/shorewall/interfaces

Adding dynamically more than one host at once?
Hi, it seems not to be possible to add more than one host at once to a zone. So shorewall add br0:eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0:192.168.2.11 work fails, since "br0:eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0" is interpreted as one interface. --snip -- iptables v1.2.9: interface name `eth0:192.168.2.10,eth0'' must be shorter than IFNAMSIZ (15) Try `iptables -h'' or ''iptables

Dump Card State Begins ...
Hi ... Can someone tell me whether or not this is indicative of a hardware, or software, problem? It happened a few times today, on two different drives, and it seem to "self-recover", since the server is still purring along without any noticeable problems: neptune# grep "timed out" /var/log/messages Jul 25 03:52:51 neptune /kernel: (da2:ahd1:0:2:0): SCB 0x40 - timed out

DNAT, NAT or ProxyARP?
Hello Shorewall gurus, I have a dilemma with a public server. I want to migrate the current public server over to a new machine behind the current server''s firewall (shorewall 1.4). I have included a diagram below to help explain the target network I am working toward. I have read the shorewall online documentation and though I have used Shorewall the past 4 years in the current

saslauthd attack
I'm seeing a lot of activity over the last two days with what looks to be a kiddie script. Mostly trying to access several of our servers with the username anna. All failed... in fact I don't think we have a user anna on any of our servers. Meanwhile... I'm running Sendmail. This pertains to Centos 4 and 5 servers. I'm also running fail2ban on some and Ossec on others. So far,

Unable to set attributes in a samba share (error 0x00000005)
Hi, I've set a share using samba, connected it to my Active Directory, and now I'm having problems when I copy files into this share. To setup the AD connection I've followed https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Samba_as_a_Domain_Member, and installed it into my Debian 9 install using APT, after https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Distribution-specific_Package_Installation. Is ProxyARP or NAT entries really neccesary for DNAT to work?
I have been trying to get DNAT to work and I actually have succeeded too, however, not how I thought it would work when reading through the documentation. 1. No matter what I do I cannot get DNAT to work unless I have an entry in eiter the nat or the proxyarp file. Is that really how it''s supposed to be? I can''t find anything about it in the documentation. 2. Also, in the

odd problem with proxyarp and DNAT
I have some hosts in a DMZ zone with proxyarp. In my local zone I have a host to which I DNAT. I have discovered that I can reach the host in the local zone by attempting to connect to the fw (As expected) or ANY proxyarped host in my dmz zone (as not expected). Is this normal ? (I''ve just discovered that actually the dnated host answers to requests sent to any IP routed to my host!)

DNAT e.g. port 80 to different hosts
Hi, just cracking my head how to solve this: Firewall has more than one public IP Address and NET/LOC/DMZ configured. Requests on public 1.1.1.2:80 should go to dmz:192.168.0.1:80 Requests on public 1.1.1.3:80 should go to dmz:192.168.0.2:80 How can I manage that with DNAT? I tried it with the original destination, but keep getting "REFUSED" always for one connection. Thx Andy

Hello, Is is possible to do "shorewall reject 1.1.1.1 tcp 25" ? So I can dynamically blacklist offensive smtp senders, but only have shorewall reject certain types (smtp) traffic from them? Thanks, Alex Martin http://www.rettc.com

Proxyarp vs DNAT
Hello list, I am in the process of switching from IPCOP to Shorewall s the firewall for our small office. I very much like the fact that Shorewall runs on top of the same OS (openSuSE 11.4) that I run on the server and my desktop. Our setup is fairly straightforward. We have 8 static ip addresses from our ISP, which provides a cable modem and a Cisco 800 series router. The ip addresses are
