Problem with fresh two nic installation on FC3
Hi, I''m having problems with new Shorewall installation on Fedora Core 3 (had same problem with Core 2 and upgrade did not help even iptables was upgraded from 1.2.9 to 1.2.11). I''ve followed two nic example, but starting Shorewall drops all connections and don''t permit any outgoing requests, even with "all allowed" policy. Policy file is below. Current setup

Wondershaper
Season Greetings to all Tom, in your faq, u have this noted: While I am currently using the HTB version of The Wonder Shaper (I just copied wshaper.htb to /etc/shorewall/tcstart and modified it as shown in the Wondershaper README), I treid this with wondershaper, using Bearing Leaf 1.0 stable i even changed the tc command to run_tc, and tried it in both angles, and i receive the following..

tcrules ignored? wondershaper integration?
Hi, first of all, let me thank you for your great Shoreline Firewall. I use it with great success at home (protecting my WiFi connection). And now if I could have a question about traffic shaping. I did read everything I could find but I still have two problems: first, the MARK from tcrules is not working in HTB based simple tc filter line ("handle $MARK fw classid 1:20"). If I switch

Fwd: Where to put custom rules
Hi All, I have a custom TC configuration where I''m building the tc hierarchy manually with the tcstart script. I also need to add custom iptables rules in the mangle table to classify the packets. Currently I''m using started to insert the iptables commands, but that''s way too late in the process. I tried putting them into the initdone file, but it''s trying to

CentOS 5.7 eth0, eth1 and arpwatch flip flops
Dear all, Has anyone experienced this whilst running DRBD over eth1 between two CentOS 5.7 servers? eth1 is a private IP address, unroutable. eth0 is the public address. CentOS will reply sometimes once every 3 days or every 14mins~ saying "My public IP is on eth1" to arp requests when it's not, it's eth0. This freezes traffic and causes issues. We've looked at arp*

Two nics connected to one switch
We have a webserver that is connected to three different networks. Due to our cabling, we have to run two of those networks over the same physical network. When connecting from OS X and Windows we are occasionally blocked because the client is sending to the wrong interface. Linux clients seem to have no problem at all. I have read the docs and understand that the problems exists because of

arp_filter
Hello all, I have an annoying networking issue. The value of arp_filter is getting changed. /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/eth0/arp_filter 1 I specifically set it to 0 via /sbin/ifup-local. The hosts in question are setup to test some network gear, and they all have 1 "management" interface and 1 or more through put interface. Any ideas on how to keep this value from changing? -- Milton

About "received" header when using Dovecot proxy
Hello. My name is Riku. Currently, I use Dovecot as a proxy for another SMTP server. However, this seems to cause the IP address of the "received" header to be that of the proxy server. Is it possible to change this so that the IP address of the sender is entered? The version of Dovecot is "2.3.8 (9df20d2db)". Sorry for the incomprehensible explanation. Thank you. Best

Unhandled exception c0000005 after fresh rpm install on FC3 x86_86
I got stuck with Wine on 64-bit Fedora Core 3. I can not remember when it happened (I was using wine few times a month), but somehow wine stopped working. I have removed all rpms and installed wine20050111-1fc3 rpm but when I start wine for the first time as a "normal" user, it fails with the following: wine: creating configuration directory '/home/robert/.wine'... wine:

Traffic control in a bridge/firewall machine
Hi everyone, I don''t know if you remember me, but i had a problem with a machine performing bridge (bridge-utils) and firewall (shorewall) duties. I wanted to control traffic in this machine using iproute2 and tc command with the tcstart and tcrules file in shorewall configuration. My machine hanged up when I used my traffic control script that way, but I found a solution :) The key
