Re-5: Newbie-Question
Hi! The icecast-server seems to work though I didn't manage to play music: This is my config file for the intended playlist: <?xml version="1.0"?> <ices> <background>0</background> <!-- run in background? (unimplemented) --> <logpath>/tmp</logpath> <!-- where logs, etc go. -->

mount points down in relay after a network problem
Hello. I have a problem in a master-relay scenario. Sometimes, when a stream is down in master server and after a while the stream is fine again (e.g. after a network problem), relay/s server can't get the stream again, so I have to restart icecast in relay server to make it work: 1- An incoming stream is stopped in icecast master 2 - The stream is up again in icecast master 3 - Relay

Aaah, now so far so good. Next problem. I started ices, using the default ices_playlist.xml (with a few minor changes). Everything seems fine, but I can't connect to the server using winamp. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: Re-2: [icecast] Newbie-Question (22-Sep-2003 11:35) From: tomg@future-i.com To: d.moritz@edv-partner.com > Do you have a basedir specified in

Newbie Problem
Hi all! I just finished an install of icecast/iceS but I'm having problems. I followed the documentation provided here: http://melmoth.dyndns.org/stream/doc/ to the letter and this is the problem I'm having: Everything seems to function (icecast runs, iceS runs) and it generates messages such as: [root@icecast stream]# bin/ices conf/ices-playlist.xml [2003-06-04 06:43:17] INFO

Re-2: streaming MP3s?
I'm using icecast-2.0-alpha-2 and ices-2.0-Beta2. When I put the .mp3 file in my webroot and start laying it via winamp/location/<filename>.mp3 it works fine, just when I try using the playlist via ices I get a 404. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [icecast] streaming MP3s? Can connect to example1.ogg but not example1.ogg.m3u
Check your <hostname> setting in the icecast2 config, I believe that is used in the building of the m3u...you also might want to use wget to retrieve 10.1.1.101:8000/example1.ogg.m3u and take a look at the file... oddsock At 02:12 PM 4/28/2004, you wrote: >I have just finished setting up ices2 => icecast 2 on RH9 linux. >Have 10 or so .ogg tracks in a playlist. >Also

Problem with fallback on 2.31 on Windows XP
Could you post the config you used with comments? Currently there is at least one closing comment tag without a opening tag as far as I can see, which is confusing. If that is the file you are using, maybe you accidentally commented it out? Despite that it should works, but all of the paths in the config need to be adjusted for Windows! Player mysteriously quits...
I posted the other day with a question about a player that mysteriously quits playing the icecast stream. I believe the problem is related to the icecast stream for two reasons. 1) Because it quits on more than one different player (Winamp 5 and Foobar2000) and 2) Because I used to use shoutcast with Winamp 2 and never had this problem. Anyway, I tried to get as much information about the problem

Live Streaming Problem
Me again.... After getting regular playlist streaming working, I'm not trying to complete the project and implement the live streaming. Unfortunately, due to the sad, lacking documentation for icecast and ices (especially what the xml tags in the configuration files actually DO and how they can be used), I've run into another snag that only you guys can help me out with. Here it goes.

Can connect to example1.ogg but not example1.ogg.m3u
I have just finished setting up ices2 => icecast 2 on RH9 linux. Have 10 or so .ogg tracks in a playlist. Also downloaded a full copy of winamp 5. If I point my browser at 10.1.1.101:8000/example1.ogg.m3u then winamp opens, and just says Connecting... - it never actually plays anything. If I use the open URL feature in winamp and give it 10.1.1.101:8000/example1.ogg Then winamp connects to the
