Installation Worries
I have been trying to start up Icecast2 using
http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_webradio_with_icecast2_ices2 as my
docset.
The icecast server comes up; I'm able to go to http://localhost:8000/
and see the pages.
I can't seem to get the ices2 part working. I use the suggested config file:

stupid user tricks with ices2: "No such file or directory" :P
I must be doing something really stupid.
I've read the docs for icecast2 and ices2. Icecast2 is running fine; I can
get stats.xml and see that it is running.
When I run ices2, I get the following error in ices.log:

I'm running a perl script that apparently (rarely) kills ices for this reason.
The error occurs approximately once per day for no apparent reason. For the
rest of that period the script runs fine. In fact, after some

a simple ices2 scheduler
Hi Folks: I have written a simple scheduler for ices2. It basically
plays a background playlist in sequential, random or shuffle mode.
Each time it is called by ices it checks to see if there is a file in
/tmp and if there is builds it into a request file which plays
immediately after the current piece finishes. You can use 'at' or
cron to set up jobs to place playlists in /tmp to be

Michael and Karl,
Thanks for your replies.
Sorry for confusing you with bad test info. The contents of
playlist.txtthat I referred to in my earlier email did not match the
log result I
specified. However, I had ran the test with both a full and relative path in
playlist.txt; "/home/john/Visitors.ogg" and "Visitors.ogg".
Got it working, however. Tried playing a different ogg

Ices Crashing (BUS error)
Hi,
I'm currently migrating from Shoutcast/MP3 to Icecast/OGG/Vorbis using ices.
Unfortunately, when initialising the encoder, ices crashes with a bus error.
Is there anything I can look into?
Details as follows:
icecast2-2.1.0,1
ices-2.0.0,1
libshout2-2.0_5,1
libogg-1.1.2_1,3
libvorbis-1.1.0_1,3
(All were installed from the ports tree)

I don't quite understand. You always talk about two instances. Do you really mean
two instances of ices2 called seperately? Do I have to make

[ ICES2 ] - Converted .ogg files are not played in a row
Hello,
I've succesfully set up Icecast2 and Ices2 for playlist mode, and I can
play .ogg files that I have downloaded from the Net. However, if I convert
my .mp3 to .ogg and try to play two of them consecutively, Ices returns:
