I think there has been something wrong with the directory for some time. My station, which isn't streaming at the moment, hasn't been listed for at least a week. None of Virgin Radio's are there either. Ross. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt Trim" <matt at sv.net.au> To: <icecast at xiph.org> Sent: Sunday, August 03, 2003 6:10 PM Subject: [icecast] yp

Multiple Ogg Streams
Hello I've been playing around with Icecast, Oddcast DSP v2 and streamTranscoder, trying to get multiple streams with different bitrates in ogg format running. The source I am streaming is from Winamp 2.80 Oddcast DSP v2 serving to a linux compilation (got it from CVS just yesterday) of Icecast 2. I also compiled streamTranscoder 1.1 and after much trial got a not really stable second

Ices2; Metadata and special chars - SOLVED
I just had contact with an ices-developer about this issue. This is not a bug in ices, it is a documentation-bug. What the documentation not says is, that the metadata should be sent in UTF-8 encoding. Simply change from Ascii to UTF-8 and ALL esoteric characters will be sent, i've just tested this. ----- Original Message ----- From: "MacSym" <macsym69@yahoo.fr> To:

OT: OGG in the mainstream
There is a big, big difference between cbr and vbr, btw. The machine in question is a Pentium 3 700 oc'ed to 800, 512MB ram, win nt 5.1 (2k and xp being nt) etc In an earlier version the oddcast dsp ate up so much cpu time when set at say 64kbps (for examples sake) 44.1kHz, stereo that the machine became totally unusable and the winamp task had to be (slowly) ended with task manager. Now,

Icecast2 YP extention
I think we definetly need to get YP authentication into Icecast2 soon, but I'd like to propose an extension to the draft now... with action=add: banner=URL This allows the Icecast2 server to supply a URL for a graphical banner to represent the radio stream instead of just it's name. On the server end it could fetch this URL, scale/convert it as needed, and prehaps use it with the name

Ices2; Metadata and special chars
I reported this several months ago. I was using Oddcast to send and Winamp to listen. Winamp showed the title truncated at any extended character. >From memory, status.xsl didn't show the title correctly either. No Metadata with latest icecast2
Hi, ince I have compiled the latest version of icecast, no Metadata are shown on the Status-Page of Icecast2 when streaming with oddcast or ices2. Multiple Ogg Streams
>ices2 will encode/reencode/relay to more than one server. I searched for documentation about ices2 and found two, one of them http://quasi.ksl.com/icecast/docs/Unofficial%20Icecast%20HOWTO.pdf where link to the other was incuded (which i found before though). All what I saw was that it only supports encoding streams from soundcard input or playlist, but not a stream (from Oddcast DSP). You

Icecast server YP Woes... take 2
I am having problem with icecast2/winamp oddcast dsp/darkice being listed on dir.xiph.org and dir.oddsock.org. Now I've scanned the mailing list and found that there was a previous issue, however if I use icecast on Windows XP it works fine, but not from Fedora Core 1. I've made sure to check my config files multiple times and looked at the error logs but I still can't figure
